just found weird tire wearing. need a little help

so i turned my wheel all the way to get in the wheel well and realized my driver side tire is worn normal all the way to about 1 inch on the inside which looks like its worn by a shaver. i s*** you not theres a normal tire then all of a sudden in the last inch or so the tire its shot. not a gradual wear though, like a step. i bought the from town fair tire and got everything done there. i have the paper work and plan on bringing them back. its been under a year and i plan on asking them to replace the front tires because the other is doing this as well, less, but still doing it.

any reason why it would wear so funny?

is your car lowered?

.....loose weight?

haha jk, my guess was wither or not you had springs but i guess not......hmmm...

the rim is 18x7.5x....idk....like 114.5 or something...whatever our lug pattern is

the tire is...225/40/18

i kind of remember when the guy put them on and everything he said the hub/rim sizes were off by a slight amount or something. it shook slightly from day 1 out of the place and i even brought it back. the guy re did it and said its all good just give it time. it shhok from then till now and well....problems dont show overnight but they certainly are now.

I suspect this is the heart of the problem; rims that are not quite right for the car and the tire is either rubbing on something or the wheel fitment isn't working. Shaking is a big warning sign; you need different rims that actually fit.

is it the hub bore that's wrong, maybe?

How was the ride/handling on that tire aside from the shaking? I have a theory that our car doesn't get along with the FK452...

ride is ok....handling is good. small shake at high speeds. i bet its the bore of the wheel. maybe its to big then. idk...im going to have it checked out though.

Did you get an alignment after having the new wheels/tires mounted? You're either rubbing on the inside or got bad negative camber. Eyeballing it ain't gonna do nuffin'.

ill buy some. bring them to the place. and say.....forget something? lol. fuckers better cover this. i dont even know how they fit because they did everything.....and i guess they told me nothing. would they be able tot telll right away if they fit perfect or not? if so ima b**** up a sttorm.

You put up with this for a year? Are you insane, or just incredibly gullible?

well, the shaking went "away". it wasnt really to bad. i mean....a very slight vibration so i wasnt worried. i figured it was because it was a different rim and new tires etc. i got them put on in early summer. so theyve been on for about 1/2 to 3/4 of a year. i called up and they said bring them in and theyll take care of it. im sure ill still have to argue a point.

i was just like whatever dude. ill be back im tellin you. sure enough time did its justice on my tires and im hafta buss some skulls. lol.

alright so check it out. found my problem. well few problems. let me know what you think.

1. hub + rim werent quite right. off by the slightest. little but some influence into tire wear.

2. ive never owned a decent performance tire before. usually i buy like....a/s or something so the soft rubber compound of the falken 452's cant be rotated like a normal tire. needs a more frequent rotation. little more influence

3. im usually the only one in the vehicle so the extra 190 lbs. only on the drivers side chenged the camber enough to wear the tire differently and more noticably than a standard tire. thats why everyone who looked at them asked if i had a suspension. little more influence.

4. im an idiot and did crappy research into all of these scenearios and now i have a front set of junk 452's.

so hey, for everyone who buys the 452's or likewise. dont be like me.

and also, i got about 10,000 miles out of the front wheels. i could have gotten right around stock wear at around 20,000 total if i rotated them correctly. town fair tire says, "rotate your tires kids."
