Keyless entry on Mazda 3 GX 2007

Hi Guys,

I've been searching for a few days for some info, but I did not find anything usefull...
I have a 2007 Mazda3 GX with "power package" (doors/windows/audio commands on the dr wheel) . Now, I activated the trip computer on this car 3 days after I bought it ( back in april 2007), but now I'm thinking of a keyless entry. What I could not find is some info if the car is already fitted with the remote sensor at all, and all I need to have a keyless entry is to buy/program a remote.
Any of you has any idea about this?

What the heck is GX? I thought the trip computer was only on the GT models. I'm so confused.

not really. For the 2007 GX models ( base model) the trip computer is there, but not activated. Can be done easily pressing a combination of radio buttons. Kind of a nice easter egg put in there by Mazda.
Since I have the "power package" option, I thought maybe the RF receiver is installed by default too, so I only need the remote. No relevant info about this until now

Take a look in the headliner towards the back of the car where the maplights are. That's where the KEU is located in equipped cars. At the least you can see if there's any wiring up there to connect one to. If there is then you might be able to just add the KEU and be good to go..... if not then probably not.

Really I've never heard of a 3 coming with power locks, but not remote locks.

thanks man, exactly my thinking too.

TheMAN- according to mazda.ca, the GX does not have keyless entry
No it doesn't, you're right. But I put the power package on the car, that means: Audio controls on the steering w, power doors and windows, heated mirrors.
I was thinking since powert doors are there, why not the KEU? I have the trip computer active also on GX - according to mazda.ca again, not an option on 2007 GX models. Didn't know where to look for KEU but icspots gave me an idea.

10x guys, I'll check it this week-end and let you know the outcome.
