My Angel... Eyes

Thats what I wanted to do on my CWP but with a vinyl, but then I got into the paint fading argument with myself :dodgy:

But anyhow that looks really mean man, good job (thumb)

Looking very good. I love the two tone hood. By far the best looking hood out there on an MS3.

thnx for the props.

i was originally going with the vinyl for the hood as well, but since i was painting my front lip, i jst went ahead and painted the hood too. (rockon)

Was it a huge pain in the ass to do this mod yourself? How long did it take you?

which mod are you referring too? if you're referring to the paint job, it only took two days. i jst dropped off the two items at the shop and picked it up after it was all painted. (cabpatch)

why is it necessary to remove the bumper in the angel eyes installation? im assuming its to removed the headlight assembly but what bolts are completely covered by the bumper? maybe with the "right tools" could get to the headlight screws/bolts?

i bet the plastic bracket extends down past the inside of the bumper doesnt it......

Yeah I don't do paint, so i'm with you on that, it'll take as long as the person painting it takes.

But I was refering to the headlights. I'm trying to estimate how much down time for the MS3 to do the headlights.

Thanks.

u have to remove your bumper to access your headlights. there really is no way getting around that. you are right about the plastic tab that sits under our headlight, it's hiding behind the bumper. also, there are other screws around the headlight that are hiding behind the bumper as well.

this project can be as long as 6-8hrs if nothing goes wrong. if you have an extra pair of hands and prior experience doing this, it makes it alot easier. (thumb)

6-8 hours...are you kidding ME!!?? i would assume a 3-4 hour maybe. from start to finish. you must be reading one of those mechanic manuals again.

haha. no way man. i've done this 3 other times already. i dont lie. once on a celica, second on my ms3, and third on another ms3 for a buddy of mine. i take my time and make sure the work is right. dont want condensation building up in the headlights because of inproper sealing.

i make sure wires look good. use conduit/zip ties.

i would say the heating part for both remove/reassemble and wiring is the most time consuming. heating u cannot rush. it's all timed base.

u can do it in 3-4 hrs. only if u dont run into any complications, and both of u already know what u are doing.

i know what i am doing enough to get through it in 3-4. hey when you bake the light a second time what did you use to reseal them? or did you just use the factory glue? how about did you seal them without fear of condensation because thats my only fear in the whole op.

since i had prior experience doing angel eyes. i know which point to pull from, which make a huge difference. i resealed with factory sealent using a heat gun. i have no condensation problems what so ever.

well.....which point do you pull from? lol. i guess even if i **** up i can always reseal the headlight. pita but whatever. worth a clear headlight

yo man, i thought u knew enough to get it done in 3-4hrs. why u asking me? haha.

after heating the headlights, the point/corner closest the to city lights is where u wanna pull from. if you run into some stubborn spots/sealent, have a buddy with a heat gun ready to heat those areas while u pull.

you want to make sure u can pull apart the headlight as evenly as possible in one motion. it makes reseal alot easier, no clumps.

Logik was the one who helped me do mine. I went over to his house to do the install and I painted my front grill out on the grass while the bumper was off, it does have to be removed for installation of the demon eyes so I figured **** it I'll paint the grill. He liked the look of the grill and he did his a few days after as well. We had some issues with the driver's side light and had to redo it a few times. Without any mishaps it would have been 6 hours start to finish with 2 people working on it and logik had prior experience. The issues with one light took the extra 2 hours since we had to take it apart and do it over 3 times.

I wouldnt recommend this job to be done unless you have prior experience or a friend who has experience with this sort of thing.

Thanks again for the help Logik, it still looks great, and glad your hood and came out sexy as hell!
