Any photographers in here?

I finally got around to buying some Pocket Wizards. I need to get CS4 since CS3 can't handle the 5D MKII RAW (CR2) files.

Nice purchase there.

Also, Lightroom? I have integrated it in a rather unsophisticated way, but the benefits to my workflow and image-to-image consistency are measurable. I think Lightroom 2.0 is probably the best way to process RAW images, unless you are a photojournalist.

pfft potn is useless. only reason I visit there is to buy used gear off people that overspend on something they have no clue how to use.

If you're shooting in manual then you probably forgot to manually set the white balance. But, looking at the difference in exposures in the sky, I don't think you were shooting in manual mode.l

POTN ain't that bad. There's some really good info on there. He got s*** on because he asked a question if he's got what it takes to be pro, and proceeded to post pics that weren't up to par. Then a lot of ppl jumped in with some harsh criticism. And exif data didn't explain some of his pictures either. Go figure...

anyways, GR is right. Those lines should not be happening. Sounds like you have to look at your exposure meter on the camera. Because when you change angles, even if you are standing still, the position of light source changes. So, get a tripod ( if you haven't already), try using M mode again.

Either that or just go into pshop and you have A LOT of blending to do.

Nice pics. We need a new O'Rly owl anyways...(alright)

gr...congrats on the upgrade to the PW's were u using the cactus triggers previously?

No, I was using the Canon ST-E2 but the IR system is limited outdoors on sunny days. The distance limitation doesn't allow me to shoot at 200mm and fire the slaves. I'm still debating on whether to pick up another Alien Bee B800 and a power supply instead of using the Canon 430EX and 580EX. I don't think I'd be able to fit two B800, power supply and 2 light stands in the Miata trunk, though.

... so im lying? Interesting.

Take it however you want, but shooting in manual mode won't net results like you posted unless a cloud came out of nowhere and blocked the sun or you changed the settings in between shots. You can post the originals with the EXIF data embedded into the image. You could've bumped a dial and changed the shutter speed or aperture.

You should be able to. Pelican case with your lights, and then the stands and a power supply. Wanna sell your 580? hehe

My camera bag takes half the trunk lol

I'd have to stuff my clothing and other items on the front seat. Passenger? Forget about it.

hm..

to be fair, I probably should have used a different title.

my tripod broke. :( need to find a cheap replacement for now.

agreed there is no way that was done in manual mode unless 2 things

1) you changed your exposure or some other setting
2) like GI said the lighting changed very very quickly

if you took them over 30 mins or so its possible but normally one shot after the other this should never happen
