new ebay intake with mods

so i was bored today and decided to put on my ebay intake again(last time it was hitting on the brake booster and making a horrible noise) ...so i put on the intake and mounted it...then i put on a AEM high flow filter

now here is where the mod come into play...i know in the Honda world people dont really believe in short ram intake because they just suck in hot air....so most people prefer to us a stock box with a k&n filter

so i decided to leave on the piece that is on top of the radiator (the on the get air from the outside) and connect a piece of tubing that points towards the filter ....in theory when ur driving it will blow cold air into the engine bay and by the filter

first of all my car had a catback megnaflow and this intake is soooo much louder with the aem filter that u cant hear the exhaust .......also with the new filter and that piece of the stock intake IT PULLS WAYYYY HARDER THOUGH THE RPMS

I dont know if anyone has done this yet....but i think everyone should try it

ok guys i did a test today to see if this really works or not AND.....after about 25 or 30 this mod helps out a ton...

i drove my car without it and with it and pulls harder even fifth pulls better...it even lows the rpms without it at 60 im at 32 and with it i was at 3k and even seem to keep the engine bay a little cooler

Is that a Rezton kit? It looks identical to mine. I'm yet to change the filter on mine though still using the cheap one it came with.

i was considering getting that kit also. not to sure thought or a cold air intake but i have been told it doesnt matter cold air or short air.

What filter exactly did you get? Got the same setup also with the stock filter and I already like the sound improvement

How would it change your RPMs at any given speed? HP doesn't change the gearing.

i know that but doesn't that amount of hp change the change rpms??it seems really weird to me but i swear it changed

Yeah mine was an ebay cheapy from cartoka. $100 shipped and it only took 4 days to get here. Yeah even the guy at cartoka told me the filter it came with is junk and I should replace it. What ever filter I go with it's going to be a dry flow I hate dealing with the cleaner and then oiling.

Don't know about the dry flow because you have to buy their AEM cleaning kit... In fact I really don't know which filter I should be using. So! What's the best one you had guys? The cheapo one works fine for now, but I'll swap as soon as I decide which one is the best pick.

hey check periodically to make sure your filter is still there....i ran mine like that for a while and i was driving down the highway one day and it sounded like i ran over something...turns out a few days later it was my air filter... i had it on tight

I do belive that the k&n filters do work best or from what i have been hearing there is nothing wrong with them.

k&n filters are really good...but this is a aem dry filter and it works really good too...i think as long as ur not using an ebay filter it will work pretty good.....i would love to get a hks filter and try on of those out

i bet they are pretty good because from what i hear those are good intakes
