I installed the medieval motor sports transmission mount today, and now my transmission sounds like a supercharger 1st, 2nd, and especially 3rd gear. You also can hear it go into gear when shifting, and can hear the TOB more now than before. has anyone else experienced this issue with the mount?

I have this mount also but have not installed it yet because I cann't get the bolt out of the metal seleve. I was told to heat it up but I have yet to try. I'll probably have to machine a bit out of it also. Hearing your problem I might opt to not install it.

well i would go that far, its a possibility that it was an issue before i just didnt notice because stock mount sucked, but thats why i wanted to know if anyone else had the issue.

When you put in a stiffer transmission mount, it'll transmit vibrations more directly from your transmission to the vehicle. That's what you're feeling and hearing. If you don't like it, a swap to a lower durometer mount might help, but you'll probably learn to live with it.

Check alignment of mount there are actual measurements you should take before tightening all bolts this is NOT just a bolt in part.

what should i look for? could you be more specific in what i need to measure?

I can live with the whine if i have to, the car is so smooth now and i actualy have LESS vibes that the stockers, the car feels like it has some raw power now.

im gonna keep the stockers layin around tho, just in case. i just wanna make sure that im not low on fluid/gears f'ed up/ gonna fall out any second now kinda thing.

The noise is 100% normal i also have the TRZ combo but i get the same sound. It is just the sound of you diff and clutch being tranfered through a much more firm mount. You are fine, just turn up the radio or open tue windows !

You guys are killing me go into the manual and you will see the tranny mount with numerous measurement that must be adhered to or mount will be out of alignment and tranny will whine trust me I fixed mine by redoing it required loosening all mounts to achieve proper angle on mount. No if ands or buts.

And for you ForceFed this was another thing a supposed mechanic did wrong. LOL

The mount doesnt cause there to be a whine, it just allows it to be heard. Nothing has changed inside your transaxle. It is doing the exact same thing it was before. The difference is there is no longer a big sloppy rubber donut like mount to absorb all the sound and vibs. A good firm mount is going to allow this to be heard and felt. And in all honesty the more noise you get, the stronger the mount !

Please quote the pages that cover this alignment. All I could find was they want you to tighten things in a particular order.

On all the threads that I have read over the past few months about side trans mounts no one was really able to adjust the bolts to be dead center in the holes (I tried for about 45 minutes moving the jack to like five different locations and pushing and pulling and shoving all sorts of directions and could not get my TRZ trans mount directly centered in the holes) Others have reported the same issue and I dont foresee it being a problem. If it was such a major issue TRZ would not have made the four holes on their mount so big, i mean we are only talking about maybe a little more than 1/8" or maybe a little more difference if the bolts are dead center or not. I love the sound coming out of my tranny now and you really cant hear it at highway speeds just when your slowing down at a stoplight or speeding up in the first three gears. Not to mention the awesome increase in shift quality after the mount settles in for a couple weeks.

Oh do I feel like an ass your right just tightening procedure yeah when I redid mine instead of just random tightening it helped might have been lucky Sorry

I have the TRZ Dogbone and i tightened the bolts as hard as i can, in this order....under carriage and THEN the tranny bolt. Some people are too paranoid, its just a mount.

Yup. The only thing a mount can damage is your sanity... and possibly, it could rattle pieces of your interior trim right off... :D ...though the extra vibration at idle does have a massaging effect on your bottom... (humpleg)

Shut up, no one likes a whiner.
