Opinions on a Carbon Fiber Look..

oohh i just had a great idea, paint the cf hood the color of the msp but have them tape off the flying m symbol onto the center of the hood (centered between the outsides of the hood lines) and leave that carbon fiber

I dunno if I want to be that dedicated to Mazda.. (uhm)

With the CF Hoods.. is it just the VIS that fades, or is it all of them, depending on the amount/quality of the clear coat used?
Deciding between a Xcelerated Concepts hood, or the VIS Evo hood. There is about a $13 difference between the prices.

get Xcelerated Concepts hood, i <3 those guys, high quality stuff from them all the time.

Yup, I think I am going to go with them.. best bet that the hood will come in one piece! With the roof cap, what type of glue did you use? I know that iSport probably supplied it, but as it is right now iSport hasn't gotten any in stock for a while so I'm just wondering if I could go out and buy the same kind from somewhere.

I beg to differ my friend... Either you lucked out and actually recieved a halfway decent product or your standards are way lower than mine...

HAHA WUT! most if not all love their products.

The only bad part is paying for the customs :( damn USA and Canada trading laws s*** haha

Did your issue get solved? Better to rant than for us to never know what happened, as like someone else said, we've heard nothing but good things from XC.

Well I'd rather not get into the nitty gritty as I'll just end up ranting, but let's just say I received a stupendously inferior product followed by craptacular customer service...

Carbon Fiber anything is a performance upgrade cause it reduces weight, so I say CF everything!!!! I just hate anything thats cosmetic and not functional!

ill go with the evo one i really like the XC RC hood but 750 is hella high for a hood haha

You do know our pricing is in CAD right? Not to mention that they are currently on sale (both of our vented styles) for $550 CAD + shipping.

Are there any special offers right now such as eyelids, any coupons, etc? I found the little dropbox on the right side to convert the prices to US $$ but according to the currency converter $550 CAD would be $441.38 USD, and on the site when it converts it, it shows $456.83. How much is customs usually?

SO why get them...I bet the net Weight saving would be less than 10lbs. total between the two.
Clean out your trunk and keep the $1000-1500 in your pocket.

There is a 21lbs savings in the hood alone and probably close to the same with the trunk so underestimating the weight loss in the trunk I'll say there is a 30lbs savings in doing the both of them. That's a really good amount for a car this size.

My reference for this is Sm76's "Protege Weight reduction" thread
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123663837

even 30 lbs would translate to about .03 in the quarter mile.... not worth a grand to me... I can think of much better gains to be gotten from that kind of cash.

That said, if you want to Carbon your car up, it looks great, go for it!

unless you are simply removing parts for weight reduction it's not ever going to be cheap.

Weight reduction will help braking, handling and acceleration though
