What have you done to your MS3 today?

lol. are u implying to how the car runs after the cobb shifter weight?

it's alot easier to shift. will take some getting use to, and install is a piece of cake. took me no longer then 10mins.

easy install at a low cost. can't beat that right?

got my inlet in. will put up pix frm engine bay after install.

thnx to Jarod7920 and HTP for putting together a well crafted inlet.

I had the day off so I washed and waxed the car.

That's a beautiful car. I started out looking for a TR MS3 but I wound up buying a CBM car because I already had one bright red car and I wanted something that wouldn't attract so much attention from the police. In retrospect I wish I had gone with my gut reaction. TR really makes the car..

here are some pics from inside the engine bay.

I found an open box lying on the kitchen table with suspicious black plastic rectangles with "Rallyarmor" printed on them. Birthday is in 7 days, wonder what those were? Hmm.

Also took it through a wash to rinse all the salt off before it becomes a permanent part of the paint.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! My Kumho Ecsta SPT's in 235/40/18 arrived today, so the RX8 wheels are going on as soon as I get the tires mounted!

True Red wasn't my first choice, but it has grown on me immensely.

IKE=MS3 08.5: I wax my car with Turtle Wax I.C.E Paste. It's not the best wax by a long shot, but it goes on easily and allows lots of room for error. It's plastic friendly and easy to wipe off. When wiping the wax off, I use the Turtle Wax I.C.E. spray detailer with microfiber towels. I'm an impatient person. This wax system seems to be pretty suited to me.

I thought it made it more difficult to shift. Since you're dropping weight from the other end, you're putting more of the effort on your arm.

No, it's a counterweight, so reducing the mass (like the COBB unit does) makes it easier to shift. Before you order one, remove the stock counterweight and see if you like it. If it's too light, but stock is too heavy, then the COBB is for you.

I use the Ice Liquid wax. I wonder if the paste works better? I like the liquid very much but it doesn't like to get rid of water spots. Although I no longer have the water spots on the hood thanks to the new paint job from the deer accident- but anyways. I also use the ICE spray detailer- it's really good when you want the extra shine without the full out wax process. (cool)

VERY NICE!!! I love my Cosmic Black, but that red is just beautiful!!!

I just wanted to give you a heads up. ^_^

The name of your color is Black Mica... not Cosmic Black. :) The only current Mazda color with the word 'Cosmic' in it is Cosmic Blue.

Good call. I'm glad someone nice pointed that out before the jackals saw it :P

MS3 owners, I've noticed, get really pissy about the correct colour of their car. One of the techs at my dealer has a black mica like mine, and when he asked me what colour mine was when I came in to get the windshield rattle fixed a few months back, I said "Black" and he looked like he wanted to punch me in the face. Glared at me and said "Black MICA, ok?"

I am not at all pissy about it, I just figured it would be helpful to point out that Mazda does not have a color called 'Cosmic Black'. I, for one, would want to know what the correct color of my car is.

HAHA, when i first joined this site. i noticed and commented on how pissy mazda owners are or can be

Thanks for that. I didn't realize I had put that on there! (doh)

I have worked in a body shop for a long time and everything starts running together after a while. I mixed up some touch up paint a little while back for my car and our paint system actually says the color is metallic black- which it's really not but that what it says.
All I ever think of it as is 16W :p
Anyways thanks for the tip.
