Grind in 3rd gear

Does anyone else have a problem with grinding in 3rd gear when gettin' on it? Not just mistiming on my part, but grinding with the clutch all the way to the floor. I can't even "shift thru" it when it happens.

how long have you had the car for? many people grind gears on this car when they first get it regardless of experience driving manual transmission cars in the past. Also, do you have an upgraded motor mount or shifter bushings? they make the shifts more crisp and smooth. A synthetic trans fluid like redline mt-90 will smooth out the feeling of the synchros as well. If all else fails and it wont smoothly go into gear, somethings up with your tranny or clutch and you need to get it looked at.

everbody has it, ive got a rear mm, tranny mount, short shifter and bushings, and mt-90 and 3rd gear still gives me hell.

i never did grind the gears in this car (amazingly) when i first got it. even tho it was my first stick i had driven them before. it was a little funny goin from 2nd to 3rd. this gear box is just awkward it seems or it could be just me? now that ive gotten used to it it seems almost weird trying to drive anything else. (screwy)

Yea it happens no matter what, and I have a short shifter, bushings, mounts all that and still does it sometimes, pisses me off but oh well just remembe when it first kicks then shift to forth, forget 3rd all together. otherwise your just gonna grind and grind 3rd till it's no good anymore.
