What have you done to your MSP today?

What I did to mine today (well, recently anyway):
-Transmission rebuild, diff replacement
-Cleaned interior of yellow felt
-Cleaned up engine bay of crooked/loose intercooler couplings, bad wiring, general shittiness
-New brakes all around
-Replaced disgustingly horrendous exhaust with stock exhaust
-Oil change
-New tires
-DIY alignment
-Water pump

*phew!* O, the joys of buying a new-but-abused car!

so where you from? MD or IL

Don't you have a few cold start issues with the 626 mani? IE runs like crap tell its warmed up.

the only issue i have is if i try to move it right after starting it when its cold out. it will bog. if you wait 10 or 20 secs, even though its still in warmup you can drive normally. I dont boost her till shes all hot and bothered.

What happens if you boost before its completely warmed up? Just boggs pretty bad?

oh nothing, it runs better cause everything is cold, however i like to make sure the oils hot, coolants up to temp, and engine is nice n warm before i do any boosting this way i know its ready to go. Call it being cautious. the only time it bogss is within the first 30 secs or so but its good to let it warm up on a turbo car so the oils not sluggish and such.

Ah ok. I ask becuase some times I go into slight boost before its all warmed up all the way.

yea i do too, id imagine there would only be problems doing a full wot run if its not warm. like getting some blowby or something since the metal isnt expanded or whatever, or the oil not coating as well cause its cold so its not as viscous. thats just a guess though.

Is it free? I'd actually take yours before Topher because he is 2 1/2 hours south of me. Sorry Topher but thats why it sucks to live in Columbus.

Took my car back to the shop, had them do what i told them the first time, guy still swore i didnt need 1" fittings but I told him to do it anyway. Low and behold it worked and he didnt charge me a dime. So long story short I KILLED THE TURKEY!!!!!!!

NICE. glad to hear.(drinks)

When I got back from lunch I notice a oil puddle under my car! So I parked in a different spot and well... the puddle is back. If I had to guess its coming from either the oil pan or the oil filter. Two spots.... one decent size i would say towards the back of the oil pan near the filter area on passenger side. and a small spot in the same area but closer to the front of the car(I assume its oil from the same leak just running down the isdeof the pan).

Edit: Big puddle is about the size of a wind up headphoen case and the small one is about the size of a 50 cent peice after sittign for 2 hours....

a nother one bites the dust!

So does that raise the value of my car more or less? Sucks to hear, guess it's a bit more unique now and that's all. (shrug)

It's so simple, jack up the car and see if the filter or oil drain bolt is loose. If not see if you can track it down, sounds like a big enough leak to give you something to worry about.

Harder to do in a parking garage while your on the clock at work with no tools.. yes I'm at work right now. lol

Edit: Oil level is fine for now and im roughly 2k into this oil change. I still have to drive roughly 40 miles home... fun fun

I used to work for a dealer in service. It was easy for me, just wait for the managers to go home and your good. I changed clutches, axles, heads motors all sorts of stuff. While on the clock. As long as I got my actual work done no one complained. By the way, no one ever complained.

I once changed the head on a car with a 20 piece tool set, and it was just a 3/8ths rachet, a few sockets an extension and a universal screw driver. That was a hard day of work. A small kit is all you need, or some very handy friends.

Hi my name is Bob, so that's a nice MSP you got there.

Turns out that I was extremly lucky to make it home without popping the motor. The drain pan plug was only on finger tight when I got home!!!!!
