Buy a Pacifica, get a PT Cruiser for a buck!

Here's an interesting way to clear some unwanted inventory: offer a crazy-sounding deal on two new cars, like buy one car and get the second for just $1. That's the pitch at a suburban Chicago Chrysler dealership that promises a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser demo car for just $1 if you happen to purchase one of their five remaining 2008 Chrysler Pacificas. That's practically a 2-for-1 deal and would give buyers two options for family hauling duty. The lame-duck Pacificas in stock range in price from $37,000 to $40,000 and can carry six passengers and their stuff in floaty luxury. The PT, on the other hand, offers a more frugal option for up to five passengers. Dealer Frank Mancari started the deal on Saturday at his Oak Lawn dealership to increase showroom traffic. Once all of the vehicles are sold, however, that's it. We bet more than one person will walk in and tell the dealer he can keep his PT Cruiser, they'll take the Pacifica with a $15,000 discount instead. Who are we kidding, Chrysler doesn't even want these cars anymore.

Nothing wrong with the Pacifica! Can carry 6 large people around and haul a little of their luggage!

Purchased this 26 months ago and have put 28K miles with no problems.
She has almost 51K on her now!

Not a fan of the PT Cruiser though?

Just a little luggage?

you can't sell yourself for a buck junior

Apparently, $1.

lololol

chrysler dealers have nothing to loose, and it's an ingenious way to create a nationwide buzz and sell some cars. I bet he's increased his floor traffic, which could net other sales. but to be honest, I wouldn't even consider it. the pt cruiser is aweful. weird buzzing noises, slow speed understeer of death, and the only chicks you could pick up in it have removable teeth. (2thumbs)

it'd be a sweet field car though. or something to just drive around crashing into stuff. "i wonder if i can make it over that curb at 20mph. let me go get the PT and find out."

I'd throw that PT up on Ebay and make an extra $50. LOL!

As for the "new" pt that they offer now...it is fairly awefull and you can find them with like 2,000 miles - nearly brand new for less than $10,000. I seriously worry for people who would buy the current PT.

I actually just bought a PT a few months back. Its our SUV for the dog:) ('04 29k miles, GT turbo 230ish hp/tq, black leather, heated seats, power roof/seats) it was cheap as hell and I'm very happy with it. (its the wife's ride) and the dog LOVES it!

There was a dealer in indianapolis about 10 years ago that would sell the Kia Minivan and give you their microsedan for a dollar :P This isnt new, chrysler is taking hints from koreans from years gone by :P

My GT Cruiser was silver and I loved it minus the premium gas and the 19mpg I managed, the rims are s*** and bend VERY easy, the tires are costly but I do miss the soud of the turbo and thats when the car at least looked good.
