Wait a sec... I didn't read in depth about your situation... The car was worth $10k less than what you owed on it? Cause you couldn't have had an auto loan without having full insurance coverage. I don't follow...
My insurance includes up to $1500 in customization. And you can add on more coverage if you need it.

we were having an install day, we wound up installing 3 sets of coilovers...a set of lowering springs...and and intake manifold that day lol, it was quite productive but as you can imagine we were all joking around hahaha
