come on man.......

nice link though. surely the records can be checked for any vehicle up for purchase if i falls into the vin range...to assure that the revamped tune was flashed.

Well, it is true. (lol) Their efficiency is pretty bad, not that ours is any better.

The dealer can check to see if the car has the new flash on it or not.

I'm fairly content with the car other than I'd like the larger interior room of the STI. But nothing worth rolling 5k, that's a lot of modding I could do.

What larger interior room? Its a couple sqare feet over the entire interior, including cargo, that you wouldn't even notice.

couldn't it be the turbo match to the engine that causes the issue considering the boost they are looking for, rather than the IHI line? i've sold IHI for years under the APEXI brand and the two things that allow people to swallow the price are the efficiency and lower boost temps. granted alot are the AX series with AIRICK but still the RX series were always touted as being outstanding turbos...

that is the first time i've heard somone trash the IHI name haha...

EDIT: wait a sec...didn't they put a TST on the JDM units? it might have something to do with the boxer engine design that make a standard turbo inefficient to an extent...

Yes, twin scrolls on the JDM models.

Overall though, they arent looking for high boost applications. Most common IHI models are VF-22, 30, 34, 39, 43 and now 48. They all perform almost exactly the same. Most people who want larger go to an MHI turbo because of the increased efficiency. Compressor maps for IHI's dont hold a candle to the available MHI turbos for the Subarus.

so i checked on car insurance and was suprised

08 sti - 801 a year
08 tl type s - 831

lol wow so cheap, the tl type s's are 6k off msrp right now also is the only reason i asked for a quote on that also.

Hey guys I just took advantage of this deal and traded my 08 MGM MS3 sport with 7000 miles for an obsidian black base model 08 STI. I got the car for 28500 and got the 0% financing, my payment only went up 60 bucks a month. They gave me 18000 for my car. Anyone in the Bellevue/Seattle area, I had 3 dealerships fighting for my business and chaplins in bellevue gave me the best deal.

Another reason they've dropped the price is that every mag says that while it's good the EVO was smacking it all over the place. I've still paid less with my mods and haven't lost to one from a roll. Plus they're fugly.

When the Evo and STI were getting redesigned, I had originally been interested in the Evo. But I decided it wasn't worth getting myself into that much debt over it. I still do like them alot.

wow not bad if you got 18k for the sport
i have 3k more miles than you and a gt but i doubt they would give
me 19, i would do it if they gave me 19.

Its different lol... the STI definitely feels more planted ad handles a little better (which is saying a lot because the ms3 handles really well). I love launching this thing, when launched right it really goes like a bat out of hell. From a roll on though I think the MS3 feels just a touch faster.

awsome chris! get some pics of it.

also check out nasioc .com and romraider .com as well....good sites and you'll love romraider believe me!

what this shows is how great of a car the MS3 is that people have a hard time deciding between it and the STI.

and that the 09 STI isnt that much better with the MS3 being FWD

it only shows how nice of a car Mazda built
