Corksport MM Inserts. My first Mod!

Man I'm too damn nervous for that s***. I just bought a damn floor jack and some stands. I'll have a few beers tonight and get on this tomorrow morning.

Use wheel chocks to hold the ramps in place, and drive up them in one smooth motion. After the car is on the ramps, take the chocks and place them behind the rear wheels.

I placed chocks behind the ramps then a heavy wooden board then a few more heavy objects against the board. I tried driving up with some wooden boards to help clear the ramp. It still kicked the ramps out and moved all the heavy stuff. I guess my carport floor is too damn slippery.

My jack was a massive fail as well. I tried to locate the center jack point, located it, then started jacking. Once the tires started coming off the ground I couldn't jack the damn thing any more (I was a little scared to get under the car for more torque being supported by just a 2.5 ton hydraulic jack).

Has anyone had success placing jack stands by jacking up one side of the car then the other? I would feel more comfortable doing it this way, but I can't get the jack stand under the jack point while the damn jack is using it.

I guess I'll reset and try the ramps again tomorrow. I've got to find a way to keep them from slipping.

Sorry I hijacked the thread a bit. I'll move this to a new topic if you guys would like. The motor mount inserts look really slick sitting on my computer desk.

Quite simple. Thats how I lift my car. Place your jack under the one of the FWD lower control arms where it bolts up to the chassis. Look for the solid portion of the chassis. There's not much clearance doing this but it still works. You might have to do a bunch of short pumps just to get enough clearance to start really jacking. The jack stand mounts are just underneath the side skirts in front. You will see the re-enforced lip that sticks dow about a 1/4 of an inch.

whoa, It's time to go to bed now. Little drunk. i'll post pictures tomorrow if you still need help.

Edit: Nevermind! Mission accomplished!

I think its farther back, it looks like a big circle. The ball on the hydrolic jack fits up with it pretty easily. Its more towards the middle, but closer to the drivers side. Once you start lifting at that point, it should lift up both sides of the car and you will be able to put up both jack stands at once

I did it! I used the ramps combined with a crazy contraption consisting of bags of sand, cat litter, tires, and shelf liner. I also positioned a long mirror next to the car so I could watch myself drive up the ramps.

I was beginning to wonder if this would be worth all the hassle. Now I know it was! The car feels tight as hell now! I'm noticing no extra vibrations (maybe in the steering wheel, but feedback is good!)

Shifting is unbelievably smooth. I'm loving this mod!

Thanks again everyone for the help.

I installed my CS inserts today. It was a b****. I jacked up one side and had one jackstand behind the driver's front wheel and the jack as a backup. It probably took me 2 hours. I used my facom breaker bar to rotate the engine to pull out the stock mount. With the inserts, I shaved down the actual insert a tad and used the scissor jack to move the engine. The car feels better. There's a small amount of vibration when just sitting that I didn't notice before. It may or may not go away, but it's not bad. Shifting is also better. I plan to test this at the track and see if my wheel hop goes away. We'll see.

Why did you shave the insert? Its supposed to be a tight fit

I barely shaved it. Just a tad. It wouldn't go in and I didn't want to move the engine any more. I spent too long on it already. I'm sure it didn't do anything. If it still wheel hops, I'll get the CPE mount when that comes out.

did you put the inseert in correctly? notice how in first post second pic. how the blue inserts are diffrent sizes

Jon mine was tight also and I had trouble with the angle too. Wheel hop is long gone. You cannot put the inserts or mount in wrong I don't think. You will be pleased

anyone talking about this scissor jack method... just unbolt the 3rd bolt, its MUCH EASIER. I remember trying to pry the thing in there and then looked online and saw you just take the bolt off the block and that silver hangar comes out that the MM bolts to and it was much easier.

As far as wearing out, i have had mine for 4 months, I think I am just used to them. still feel fine, just not as noticeable after driving with them forever, much like most mods you get used to the difference over time

I didn't know it was possible to put them in wrong, but yes, I did install correctly. I'll think about removing that mount next time. I'd rather take off as few parts as possible. We'll see what happens at the track.
