626 manifold quetsion....yet another thread

does that how-to link work yet? I really want to do this because there was 3 626 at the junkyard with the IM intact... the closest one being the 97 626... so if you can get that link or even a short how to on this thread would be nice...

how much are IM ideally at junkyards??

You can adapt our injectors to use the older style 626 mani's fuel rail using with a spacer. You will need the fuel rail from that mani since ours does not have the same mounting points.
Its doable, I run one :)

awesome.... and i just realized you spelled "quetsion" wrong... who cares... great How-To!

what vacuum ports did you end up using? how many compared to a MSP? torque specs?

okay... going to buy a 97 626 Manifold today ($17).... but will install it next week when i'm at my friends house with all the proper tools... will take pix and video...

anything else i should pull from a 626??

i went to the junkyard and saw the same 97 626 i saw from last time.... i was able to get the egr and the bracket off without getting under the car... but i was not able to get the whole thing iff due to the junkyard closing... i was 2 bolts away! i was even able to take the manifold off the studs and everything!,,, and now i need the fuel rail?? stated by crazee d on the top of this page...

will go tomorrow bright and early so people in town who see this thread doesnt take it! all the works done for them.... anything else?

Get the brakes they fit too!
Theres always the block and head too, prolly a few other things idk

i'll be back later for the head... but its pretty dirty... how do i clean the inside of the manifold? i heard gumout is pretty good... what kind of brushes should i use?

what about the 626 throttle body?

Just wanted to chime in I've been wanting to do this swap for sometime. I am currently useing 93-97 FS-DE injectors on my FP-DE. Now don't be quick to say well that's not the same motor or manifold or fuel rail or any thing like that because you would be basicaly incorrect. The manifold on my FP is the same manifold that is on the MP3. It only has VICS. It has the same fuel rail as the 01-03 2.0L proteges.

Now my car is quite modded and I wanted injectors that would flow more than the 1.8L to help support the mods. I don't want to thread jack so we'll leave it at that.

I've been useing the old style injectors for some time now so why aren't other people useing them when doing this swap?

well then what is the flow rate of the old style VS. the 285 ml/min that the new style is? In my case the old ones on my 1.8L were 235 ml/min. the intake cam duration and the lift is even smaller (225 vs. 230 & 7.9mm vs. 8.6mm lift) so the "old" ones felt like a better choice after I put in the FS-ZE cam. (yes it works in the FP-DE too.) It was a big butt dyno boost there the whole rev range but especialy down low. the flow rate of the old injectors has to be somewhere inbetween 235 and 285. the old injectors have larger solinoids than the new and are noisier but also can react faster.

just got back from the yard. bought a 97 626 manifold with fuel rail and EGR. I have a side project that I started addapting an Integra 60mm throttle body to mateup to our intake. this will make it easyier to do and will yield even bigger gains.

the stock 93-97 626 fuel injectors are rated at 230cc's, which is a lot less than our stock ones #108 on the 8th page

well there it is I was re-reading this long ass thread. so I don't know why they seem to work better in my car but they did and do. I have a injector cleaning machine at my shop and the old 1.8l injectors and the old FS-DE where cleaned and fresh but the FS-DE ones just felt more alive
