Hello everyone well I am new here and its desperate times that bring me to this forum.
I have a 2007 Mazda 3 w/16K miles on it and as of a few days ago my Engine kicked the bucket and blew out a cylinder or rod. Not sure exactly. Anyway the dealership towed it in and said it has a blown cylinder. It makes a ton of metal to metal clucky sound when it runs. Well I have had the car serviced twice at the recommended mileage and looks like I went about 1500miles past my last oil checkup. Soooo as you can imagine the dealership will not cover anything and said so sorry bring the rental car back, pay us for it and oh we need $7900 bucks to install a new engine.
So after screaming every cussword in the book at them, I am left without a car thats going to cost a fortune to fix that I still have to make payments on. Yeah I know its my bad for not doing the oil change on time and I am screwed by their nice fine print contract. (strike)
So here is my questions What should I expect them to tell me what a new engine cost if I do the install, how much should a used one cost if I can find one and what are the differences with the MS3 vs. the M3 can I put a MazdaSpeed engine in it and maybe get something more for my money?
Any suggestions one what I can or should do?
Thanks,
-Neal
