I am contemplating on purchasing a bug deflector. I would like to know, from those of you that have them on your CX-7 if they actually work (uhm) or if they are just for looks(lol2).

Thanks in advance for your replies.

in theory they work, it redirects the airflow up a bit so it doesn't go right at your windshield. i've never owned one, so i don't know for sure though.

I've had one on since new, so far no problems with it, no damage at all to the front of the bonnet, does catch the bugs though in summer on the highways. Only takes 10 minutes to take off or put back on, very easy. Did take it off for a while but preferred it on in the end. Would probably only suit the darker colours though.

It really does work. I rarely get any bug splatters on my window. Probably when I do is because I'm speeding. Aside from it's practical use, it's a real nice touch to the car. In my opinion, gives it a nice aggressive look. I look at other CX-7s without it, and I think to myself, looks too simple or flat. I got used to having the bug deflector on.
