Not trying to toot my own horn here, but I believe that most of the cars here have a pretty "whole package." There are a few that aren't as modified as the rest, but it's the flair of the car that will get it the votes to win.

I would like to think that my car fits into the "whole package" category, as well as everyone else.

All of this coming from someone who didn't enter to show us what a "whole package is."

If I were a judge!!

Top 7 Rides

(first) 1st place: SpeedElixir (first)

(second) 2nd place: JNaoto (second)

3rd place: Vel

4th place: JBiird317

5th place: Highway UFO

6th place: Wicked Protege

7th place: JEG0024

Best interior: Mickerategui

Best Engine: MSP03.5

Cleanest Vehicle: JNaoto

Best Paint: 3 wayTIE: HighwayUFO/Wicked Protege/Fatti03MSP

Best in Show: SpeedElixir

The rest of you guys, I dont wanna sound harsh but if your gonna enter these contests, degrease and clean the engines up and spray them with Armor All or tire dressing, dirty engines kill you on "brownie" points. Also pics with personal belongings like empty bottles and paper really take away from an image.

Wicked Protege, I really like your car but with stock wheels it looks unfinished plus the pics dont do your paint any justice.

mickeyreategui, you killed yourself with no engine pic..you would have made my top seven.

Ok so what would the "whole" package be in your opinion? Oh and I think its pretty crappy that you come on here and say what you said. There are some nice rides in here. I understand its your opinion and are entitled to it but why be such a dick about it?

while most of the cars in the list this month have quite a few mods, the pictures are horrible at reflecting those mods. if i were to vote on these cars at a car show, and they looked like they do in the pics, i would tell them all to go home and come back tomorrow after getting washed.

this is the point i was trying to make. if i were to vote based on mods alone, that would be one thing. but, the car is going to be featured on the front page of the forum site, so make it LOOK like it should be there.

Funny and True.

I'd have to say I agree with the above points...Time, effort, skills and taste are all very important but so is taking nice pics of your Mazda AND making sure your Mazda is looking its best...(2thumbs)

Maybe I should include a brief set of guidelines for entering the MOTM based on input from you guys...Here is a quick example...

WAIT! Before you take & post pics...Is your Mazda?
* Washed & Waxed?
* Engine bay Clean & Shiney?
* Interior Clean & Free of trash?

NOW that your ready to take pics...Is your Mazda?
* In a place with Plenty of Light?
* In front of a Sweet Background?
* Engine bay Well Lit?
* Interior Detail Visible?

Finally...Is your Mazda MOTM Entry?
* CREATIVE?!?! *

Be sure to post your input as well and I'll put something together for the next MOTM...Thanks! :D

i fully agree with "Creativity" being part of the contest, especially since the car will be a "Featured" ride. this contest should be more than a "Mod List" comparison.

I don't clean my enginebay, cause I like to know that people see my car being used, for TOTAL ownage of ricers and yuppies everywhere. lol

whats with all the crappy cars this month? yuck

NJ I have to disagree with you this time around, a majority of the cars look great. I saw a few dirty engine bays, and some low quality photos. But overall, the cars are well put together and look good.

they very well might be, but the pictures and state of the cars leave a LOT to be desired. i would think that the members entering thier car would want to show off the cars best side, not the dirty / cluttered / every day side.

it takes about 1/2 hour to rinse out your engine bay, 5-10 minutes to vacuum out your interior and get rid of the little pieces of clutter, and $30 at walmart to get a camera that will take tremendously better pics than a camera phone.

I get what your saying about cleanliness and pictures. I do agree with that for sure. Oh and highway I daily drive my car but I am just a freak with cleaning it lol. That and I do a bit of car shows and meets so that makes me keep at it.

I dont know about anyone else, but whenever I goto a show and see a super clean, nice looking ride and on their display it says "Driven Daily", that tells me that not only do they have attention to detail, but they also care about how their car looks to everyone else. Call me oldschool, but thats just the way I am. And trust me, if it says driven daily, you know the difference between that and a trailer queen.

I also Agree, First Impression is what it counts. the cleanest the better, when you mod up your car, is just not adding a bunch of parts, the fun and best is to have it unique, well taken care and clean. just my .02

Well i understand is not about a mod list, but obviously a car with more work done, unique stuff is a little ahead of others that don't have that much done, that's why there are categories when you compete, because others that don't have that much stuff done can get a chance to win, but in their category, i still think these ROTM should be modify so all of us can have a chance and get recognized. like Best Protg, Best MS3/MS6 etc. like Horsepower Categories etc. I have seen people winning with so little against people that have invested lot's of work, money, blood, sweat and tears.. just not fair to me..

Believe me in a true competition, better pictures are not going to help you Win., that's why Categories exist.

in THIS FORUM competition, pictures count for pretty much everything - and, this is the competition i'm refering to.

i think they need to change the format of the ROTM to be more fun... read the ForceFed thread about new ideas of what can make these contest better and more fun to participate.
