Hey guys i was wondering if putting on and taking off the test pipe is simple enough so that i could pass my yearly inspection without having to drive around for 200-400 miles with the stock exhaust on, in other words would i be able to pop the stock pieces back on the day before an inspection and still pass?
thanks,
jen

As long as you take the test pipe off and put the stock cat on then you're fine.

There is a precat on the speed 3s and I'm actually curious to see if you could still pass smog testing with the test pipe since there's another smaller cat.

Should only take 20-30 minutes tops to uninstall the tp and reinstall the stocker.

hmm -- has anyone passed inspection w/ a TP on?

what do you the people who have a CBE or a TBE for inspection? that seems like a royal pain in the ass to switch in/out once a yr....

I'll be going with a TP soon, but only b/c its a 30 min install. I hear DP takes about 6 hrs. The power gains are supposed to be significant from a DP, but the fact that its so time consuming to put on/take off is the thing thats holding me back from getting one.....

On a side note.....in regards to a TP -- is there any difference from brand to brand? Seems like the corksport is the cheapest @ 150 -- is it worth it to spend the extra 20-30 bux on the SU or the SLS TP?

ive seen a universal megan racing tp for 56 bucks, but i think im gunna go with protege garage's tp for 180 because it says specifically that it will not muck with any ecu sensors, however i believe theyre all pretty much the same...i could be wrong but thats what ive been told

a side note as well: i am also not going with the dp for that exact reason...if i was registered in fl i would totally go for it but im in ma...and we're pretty anal about smog over here.
