Some troubles after modding. Your help needed.

Hi there,

I've installed CP-E downpipe + HKS Hi-Power CatBack Exhaust and also TurboSmart BOV. Now i have blue smoke sometimes on the low rpm and the feeling, that my car is a stock one )=.

Sorry for my english.
What do you think?

What year is your MS3? Also, smoke can be normal, since it's burning up the lube and debris that's left after the mandrel bending of the tubes.

If its bluish smoke then your buring oil and thats bad. who installed the dp? it could be not sealed properly, also the bov is prob vta which isnt very good either with out a tune.

All work was done at local dealership which is NOT really experienced in such work due to tuning stuff is not spreaded wide in our area… All installations were done according to the documents that came with hardware (DP & others)…

How can i properly tune the BOV?

P.S. My MS3 '07 is NOT american, it's european one.
P.P.S. What is VTA?

vta means vent to atmosphere where the bov is not recirculating back into the intake. im nt sure maybe they didnt install a gasket right or something but blue some means burning oil.

once more, it could be that his turbo seals are bad. I don't know how obvious of a blue smoke it is, but many people have a problem with the back-pressure not being strong enough for the turbo seals to seal.

Ofcourse many people also say taht isn't the problem. look around the forum for turbo seal leak threads and read. Also as ComeBack said, go and get the DP checked to make sure it is sealed properly and that the gaskets are right.

Our cars need the BOV to be on recirc. so make sure that is done too, for obvious reasons, but I don't think that would cause blue smoke out of your exhaust.

(obviously, I am assuming his blue smoke is from the exhaust).

why is this?

The MS3 will run perfectly on full recirc, anything else will need some sort of tuning (wrc)

isnt there a danger to this as well? i thought that too much pressure can hurt the engine and is the reason why it should vent.

i was saving up for the www.s t reetunit.com/Turbosmart_Dual_Port_p/ts-0205-1009.htm cause it gives the best of both worlds. although, hearing that a bov can mess with the MAF, would this product still need tuning?

the recirculating still does relieve the pressure just not into the air. It relieves the pressure into a hose which then that hose sucks it back into the intake so it RECIRCULATES back through the engine.
