MS3 + Used Miata or S2000?

Okay so lets try this again without the flame war (flame2) shall we...

As most of you know I've been considering possibly trading in my MS3 for a S2000 in about 1.5yrs time. However, upon farther discussion quite a few members have pointed me in the direction of getting a used Miata instead while keeping the MS3 which sounds like a kick ass idea. My only issue with this is that will the Miata be a pain in the ass to maintain since I would be buying one used? See if I went with the S2000 I would get a certified used one with not too many miles on the clock. Plus I'm pretty confident in the S2000's ability to stand the test of time where's the Miata.... Not so sure :(
All this said, I really like the Mazdaspeed3 it's just that I've been making a few extra pennies and absolutely love cars. To me the MS3 is an awesome daily driver / fast, sporty and very usable vehicle but sometimes I find myself wanting something a tad more focused if you know what I mean.

I traded in an S2000 for my MS3. After 5 years of the vert I was sick and tired of all the road noise (yes even with the top up).

However, as a man, I just can't see myself driving a Miata. To me it is a girls car. Yah Yah I know, track car, sporty yadda yadda yadda....still a chics car in my mind and nothing gives me a bigger giggle (yes giggle) than seeing some dude that weighs 250lbs and is 6ft tall crammed in a Miata. The only thing missing is a pink scarf as I can't think of anything more gay.

So those of you that own a Miata for anything other that Autocross etc. Don't get all bent out of shape and defensive. Where the Miata screams girl the S2000 screams guy. So I would pick 100% the S2000 if I was looking at a Miata or S2000 choice.

Note: This is my personal feelings on the 2 cars, not a fact. So unless you give a rats ass what I think, don't get your feelings hurt if you disagree.

Honda s2000 screams sideways hat wearing ricer who likes the cawk.......

Actually the S2000 is a work of art. There is a long history as to why the S2000 was made and the innovative ideas they put into play in order to provide a true sports car in a package costing $30k.

The engine (at the time of first launch, maybe different now) has the most horsepower per liter than any production car. The body panels are a special material to provide strength at a lower weight. Not to mention that the car is HAND MADE in the same factory as the Acura NSX. I have a real nice coffee table book on the S2000 that goes over its history.

If you have ever driven one, then you would know that it has (in my humble opinion) the best 6 speed gearbox on the market. Also, if you can afford it, you toss about 5k into a SuperCharger kit for it you will get 100+ WHP out of it turning a quick S2000 into a Fast S2000 with a bolt-on solution.

I know I sound like an S2000 lover and that is because I'm one. I loved mine but like anything I got tired of the 2 seater and a vert is noisy even on a good day.

As far as ride goes? I commuted 80 miles a day to work and back in mine. Loved every minute of it. I also drove from San Francisco to Houston, Tx over a 2 1/2 day period and never had any back/butt/leg problems at all. That's saying a lot for a sports car and I would love to see that done in a Miata. Your ass would probably be numb by time you hit Barstow.

After much thought and over 8 forum pages of debate I finally broke down and got the S2000. Here's a photo with me leaning on the new whip enjoy...

If your really going for that midlife crisis look, why not pop for a vette or a z3?

Z3 is weak sauce, you would need a z4 with 3.0L to keep pace with a S2000 and they're like 50K or something. Vette is umm I don't know..Not my thing.

The S2000 competes with cars costing 10k more sort of like how the speed3 does the same thing but in a different way. It's hard to knock on the car especially considering the price.
