Why doesn't Superchips make a tuner for the MS3.

I'm new to the import performance world so this may be a stupid question but why don't companies like Superchips or Hypertech make a tuner for the 3 or Speed 3? I still have my Hemi Ram and two Silverados before it. Hypertech and Superchips worked their butts off to get a tuner out for each new year truck or car (Camaro or Mustang for instance). What not for the Speed 3? Is there a simple plug in programmer on the market for the Speed 3?

Get it? Yeah, I get it! (chair) Seems to me that their leaving a lot of money out there for someone else to make considering how many 3's are sold and how many 3's and Speed 3's are going to be sold. From what I've been reading, no one makes a decent plug in tuner for the Speed 3. Maybe Superchips does need to make one.

My respect has grown for Superchips as a company, expanding in various ways.. Smart marketing, because the whole truck tuning scene will go down the drain if the gas prices stay up this high..

actually superchips is making a ms3 tuner. dont know how long this video has been out. http://www.webridestv.com/showvideo.aspx?video=46118
Cool! They actually show a MS3 in that infomercial. I have a SC for my Hemi Ram and it lowered my 0-60 and 1/4 time by almost a 1/2 of a second. It also firm up the shifts enough that I chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift at WOT. It's so easy to use too. Plug it in, choose the options you want and then download the program. I did check their webiste and didn't see anything listed for Mazda, I hope they do come out with one for the MS3 soon.

One of the big reasons we haven't seen as much in the way of EMS for the MS3 is the direct injection; tuners have to go back to the drawing board in terms of programming. Not to mention the 500 factory computers to work around. :)

The speed 3 ecu is a ford product already fully understood by superchips engineers. They just need to learn the functions of the sensors, the mazda programming, and how to properly set the maps, accounting for different mods etc.. in their custom tunes. They already in fact know the engine in question, having tuned the cx-7 recently which as we all know uses the very same mz3 disi engine as the speed3 and speed6. I have been in communications with superchips for over a month now, and should have further information soon.

Still not much to say here. I sent an email to them and he said they haven't had the time to get the ball rolling just yet. They still need to take photos and get their prototype stuff scheduled.

I spoke to them about the possibility of a product for the speed3 as well. The only response they were allowed to give me was "we are working on it"

Superchips is working on it... They probably have other projects to finish up first. They said most likely a few months...2-3 before they get to it.

I think the MS3 computer is a little deceiving...yes its a Ford product, but with encrypted Mazda programming; might take a while...
