I am not aware of the fanboi meaning is. please. Super U. nice expression of opinion. democracy should encourage dialog, sometimes perceived as argument, but never spiteful or without respect for others. It was designed for folks who had morals and thoughtful consideration of others. after all that crap... My MazdaSpeed 3 is my favorite car ever. No facts can back this up. But the car was designed with alot of performance, in all aspects, not far away from stock. We do not have the support that a big production # after market folks can tool up for a reasonable profit. The car is almost a station wagon. And what a wagon though! a couple pieces added and it can hit some very nice numbers in the quarter. with a bit of attention the handling and braking are in the high performance cars league. I am usually quiet but, My car will kick your cars ass! I don't care who you are. just imo

Dude, are you high?

vord. at the track the driver plays the major role. i see miatas blow vettes into the weeds regularly.
either way, i dig MS's enthusiasm.
Hear, hear! I used to be very active in SCCA autocrossing here. I had a '72 Celica which I campaigned often. I could regularly beat Corvettes if it was a SCCA event. Got my ass handed to me by 'Vettes if it was a Corvette Club event. Still, I often brought home the trophy for my class. My point is the driver AND the car work together on the track. A well-driven capable car will beat a poorly-driven hot rod.

ofcourse, apologize for overlooking it in the arguement, but my assumption was that the driver skill is the same.

last time i was at the track i saw a guy in a new Z06 run 14.01@116. everyone knows that cars is capable of much better times. i even have the time slip(my dad was in the other lane).

MS3007, I'm new here so I'd like to think I'm somewhat objective, and here's and example (outside of the GTI/Cobalt thread) of why I think you're getting flamed:

Starting at post #48, and culminating at post #54:
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3875378#post3875119

Now I don't know your post history, but you seem to be intentionally and unnecessarily confrontational towards people that suggest something other than an MS3. Is that "fanboiism"? Perhaps, perhaps not... but regardless, it pokes people in the eye and dares them to argue with you, if even just for the sake of argument. You may not intend to come off that way, but actual intent and how other perceive your intent are two different things.

This is not intended as a personal attack... just passing along my first impression of you as it directly relates to your request for feedback on the situation.

I appreciate your feedback but why don't you re-read that thread and perhaps you'll understand why I posted what I posted. Try to use logic. No offense bro, just try it.

I think it's odd that you want confirmation from a bunch of strangers (for the most part) that you aren't, in fact, a fanboi. AND at the same time are somehow concerned that a few strangers (for the most part) think you may be one.

Set your own tone man... why worry about it? If you let some dolt on the internet effect your day so much that you have to make a whole thread about it.... well then, me thinks you have more to worry about.

The way I see it.... I don't personally know the guy (or woman! hell this IS the internet, lol) but I don't think people like Swampass (judging by his posts) worry about what people think about him. He's funny as hell and very informative at times... and he keeps on poking fun at himself all the while.

Don't take yourself so seriously.

You know I normally don't give a damn but lately a few members (A slim minority) seem to be going out of their ******* way just to flame me for something I post. Here is the way I see it, if you don’t like what I post just ignore it, it’s real simple. The insults are getting old and they’re unwarranted bottom line end of story.

Sometimes wonder I if I am really on a MAZDA forum with MAZDA enthusiasts as I get flamed for posting positive statements about a Mazdaspeed3.
I would expect this kind of treatment if I was on a WRX forum perhaps but this is just ridiculous! And again, if my statements / post or whatever bother you that ******* much as to cause you to want to insult me, check the ignore feature.

I did reread the thread before making my post, as I wanted to specifically reference your post numbers.

All I'm saying is that posting this:

Okay smart guy, you don't even own a MS3 yet you feel obligated to voice your opinion.

When I said its "badass" I meant exactly that. It's a great overall car for the price. I'm actually a little more qualified to say that considering I drive the car daily unlike you.

to someone simply because they made a recommendation for a Legacy GT over a MS3 is in bad form. His opinion isn't less valid than yours because you drive a MS3 everyday. He even pointed out his opinion was biased, but you decided to attack him nonetheless.

It's that sort of reaction that makes people think you're a fanboy, as one of the trademarks of fanboyism is taking things personally that are actually directed towards the model of the car you drive, and believing that the car you drive directly reflects on you as a person.

So, looking at it logically, if you're acting like a fanboy, expect to be called one. Either brush off the criticism and not make a big deal about it, and/or change your behavior if it bothers you. You're never going to win a public perception battle by arguing with your detractors... that only fuels the fire.

It doesn't look like you're being flamed for making positive comments about Mazdas. It looks like you're being flamed for making derogatory remarks towards other people and other makes of cars and believing that those are somehow "positive statements" about the MS3.

PS: The same flaming crap happens all over the WRX forums too, BTW.

Are you sure you read that thread? lol!

I really wasn't even referring to that thread anyway. That was just about some dude giving he's "biased" opinion which = fail. I responded with "I own the car and therefore am more qualified to answer questions in regards to the MS3 seeing as I actually drive one" What is wrong about that? It makes complete / total sense to me.

Your asking us why we think your fanboy yet your refusing to accept our explanation...

.... What? does that make sense to you?

Sperry made some good points. You should thank him for taking his time to explain to you his view on this matter instead of telling him to use logic.

Thanks for your opinion but I completely disagree with you.

Hyun is one of the 2-4 members I was referring to obviously so this is no surprise (stoned)

I have yet to hear a valid argument as to why the insults are warranted. However, I still appreciate the opinions / feedback even though I might disagree.

Any Moderators want to chip in?
