(omg) dish soap!!!!!!!!! that will eat your clear coat the ph balance is way to strong to be used on paint
Nothing else would take off that ICE junk. It's like engineered fried chicken grease.

Well I use the paste version of ICE and like it so far. When I called Turtle Wax they told me the paste was a better formula for longevity and a more durable coat. It didnt make much sense to me to use the liquid so I never gave it a chance.
Both the ICE and NXT are holding up just fine on both our cars so I will see which looks best in another few weeks and report back.

I still think I will try that Zaino stuff next just to see what the fuss is all about. They sell some detail spray that I like to use to do daily wipe downs so that is a plus. I will likely order a bottle of the All in One stuff and they detail spray for next time.
A couple of questions for those who use Zaino:
Is it the all in one stuff I should use?
Can you use regular meguiars or ICE car wash or do you have to use their stuff?
Meguiars Clay bar kit just as good as the Zaino version?
Basically all I want to do is buy the all in one and their detailer and use the car wash stuff that I can buy by the jug. Is that ok?

First of all dish soaps are not created equal so one may be worse than another, but no, simply using dish soap on your paint will not hurt it. It certainly will not eat your clear coat. Over time the regular use of dish soap will dry out seals, rubber, plastic, etc. And if you are not protecting the paint after use it will leave your paint vulnerable. The pH is not too strong. Dawn, which is usually the product in question on this topic, has a pH of 8.
I don't like using dish soap but if you are going to you must protect the paint, rubbers and plastics after use or you will be doing damage.

either way. they make car shampoo for a reason!!!! its perfectly balanced so that it cant harm the paint in any way ..If you are the 1 in 12 who wax their car 3 times a year use a car wash soap. For the 92% of you who don't use these unesesary wax products the car really doen't care if your hands look twenty years younger by using Dove for dishes in you bucket.

No worries bro, but the record needed to be set straight. I mean to say dish soap is going to eat through your clearcoat?! If that were the case what do you figure happens to the dishes its being used on, or better yet your hands! If a dish soap did that I don't figure to many people would have hands. If your shop doesn't use it thats cool, I don't use it either. But you need to get the facts right.

Just finished reading this whole thread. Which product is quick and provides the results? Is it the Liquid Polish, Paste Polish, Detailer, all three or a combination of the three? Everyone just seems to say "ICE" in general.

for the question regarding zaino usage...
you can use and car wash you want. i believe, the z18 clay is a milder clay than most. therefore it wont marr your paint as badly as other more aggressive clays, however it will take longer to remove all the containments.
the more aggressive = more crap removed from your paint, but also means youll be doing a little bit more marring to your paint.

Well I really want to try that Zaino stuff but I really looked close at my black MS3 today with the ICE paste freshly on it and it is damn good looking.
This AM I had that grease smear on it as previously mentioned but found it was due to too heavy a mist of the detailer. So I wiped it clean with a MF towel with just a light spray of ICE cetailer on it and its gone.
If it keeps looking this good I dont see a need to switch but I do want to try a so called "higher level" product other then what can be had OTC. It just that this black car looks very good right now and shines very very well compared to the NXT I used for the past year. Maybe Zaino is even better, who knows so perhaps I will have to try it soon.

lol! well theres a difference in dishes vs paint, even more if the paint is less then a year old because the paint is not completely hard yet!!!!
Its formulated not to strip the wax..thats its primary goal.
The Dish soap will..in fact..strip the wax..which is exactly what the poster wanted to do.
It won't harm the paint..just take all of your hard wax work off.
WTF are you talking about..The paint is Fully cured in weeks..not years man.
Geez..who fed you this useless BS you are spreading.
And yes..I paint..so I guess I know a bit on the subject.
Not to mention...OEM finishes are baked and require EVEN LESS cure time.
