Brach, do you have a list of the various people requiring replacement screws? I know plenty of us recieved a package, but didn't recieve four.

I know many had the envolope ripped and was missing some or all screws. Just send me a PM with your name, address and how many screws and I'll throw them in the mail in a padded envolope this time.

Brach PM'd me Monday saying that he was sending the pulley out the next morning, and it's here now.
I'll testfit the belt tonight or tomorrow and post here.

Guess he's getting caught up.

Let me know. Because I had some first batch left over that got mixed in with the 2nd. I am going to be remaking the PS pulley and completely redesigning it here in the coming weeks.

you will have to remove the passenger side lower splash guard, it's 6 bolts (10 or 12mm) and a friction plug. i just loosened the bolt on the trans support and spun it out of the way after removing the 5 bolts and friction plug. for the friction plug use a phillips to turn it a 1/4 turn so the screw pops out a little bit, then grab it and pull it out, then remove the plug.

iirc when i did mine last weekend it was a 21mm bolt. i used an impact gun to take the bolt off. came off no problem. the manual says to use an SST which goes into the hole of the bolt you just took out, then two bolts go into two holes on the pulley istelf then you turn the sst to pull the pulley off. i just wiggled it GENTLY to get it off, only took a couple minutes. you must be careful tho because if you break the key in there then your screwed and have to pull off the timing gear to replace it. just make sure you grab the pulley right above the key and then on the opposite side and wiggle it and it'll walk off. the new pulley slide right in, wiggle it slightly to get it all the way on the crank and make sure it's seated flat. torque bolt to 116-122ft-lbs.

i did all 4 pulley and the only one that wobbles a tiny bit is the PS pully cuz the only place open on saturday with a hydraulic press was sears. looking at it now i should have done it myself

Impact or long breakover bar & hand tools. There's udp install how-tos around & it would be the same minus the shorter belts.

hmm ok weird, i just found the manual i have in PDF form, it says 116-122ft-lbs for the bolt. but i thought the FS overhaul manual specified a much lower torque spec. i'll have to check that again this weekend

special service tool. you don't really need it it's got a handle on it to hold the pulley to remove and tighten the bolt. a strap wrench will work too.

ahh..i remember people recommended them for the other 3 pulleys but for me they werent needed. I did a search and found out on my auto tranny you can stick something into the flywheel to keep it from spinning the pulley while you unbolt it.

^Sticking a screw driver into the inspection port in the bottom of the tranny to hold the flywheel in place works, if thats what your talking about. But make sure you have someone else to help you, otherwise its impossible.

Yeah I have 2 friend and myself who will most likely be working on it Saturday..but we only have hand tools. No impact guns for us.

Lol I feel you there. So you just tightened it as tight as you could..i read it was like 110-120 pounds of tq on it. I can only do that when I go to my Dads house probably at the begining of June.

PS pulley people beware. I'll let the picture do the talking:

I was told that I would have a replacement by now which still hasn't shipped. I was also told that the PS pulleys would be redesigned and then remade for everyone. At this point y'all gotta forgive me for being pessimistic. (headshake

Is there that much torque going through the belts to be able to shear things off like that??
