Ha, How about you let me handle that mazdaspeedster3, So there isnt a giant thread of interested-people lists.

What's that old saying? "If you build it, they will..."

Build it already and post the dog-on link so we can purchase. :D

What do you guys think of this....I've tipped the gauge toward the driver at a 10* angle.

Better? Sorry, I don't have pics in vehicle. You'll have to use your imaginations for now. ;)

i think it would be hard to imagine that because in person you can see if the boost guage would be blocked by the side of the guage from where someone is sitting... if you get what i mean...

Yeah, I hear ya. Believe me, I would never let it go out knowing that was the case. I would definitely try it out first before I approved the production run.
People have been asking about it, so I'm just trying to give the market the best possible product. We'll work it out, and whether or not this feature is included in the design when it gets tooled remains to be determined. We'll need some rather warm reception to it, or it's out. ;)

Keep the comments coming!!

Would you be able to rotate the pod in to my line of vision instead of say, down or up? It seems with your design the pod could spin 360 deg, and with the angle of 10 you would be able to rotate pod and square up the gauge towards my eye. When you are able to create a rotation point, vertically and apply the 360 for both pod and gauge you will have the world by its sweet potatoes.

i like it... i agree about the spinning of the gauge; the vent as it is now spins, would the gauge pod spin in the same fashion?

It'll fit the MS6. ;)

ericrapp, are you asking for the inner gauge barrel of the pod to rotate independent of the outer ring of the pod? That would be costly.

Right now, the entire pod is free to rotate in the dash's recepticle, so if you wanted to change the angle of the way the gauge faces you, you can just rotate the entire pod. You'll have to take care to plan what angle you want it to be at, because you're going to have a vacuum tube routed under there, and that tube exits the pod via a relief notch I've designed into it. (see that second thumbnail?). If you go spinning it around too vigorously, you may break your tube.
Does that make sense?

The VentPod is not designed to spin freely like the existing vent. Again, that would require that we add action to the tool, which drives the cost up. Basically, it would put the price of a VentPod up around $80-$100. I don't think anyone would buy them at that price.
The pod is able to be installed at whatever rotation you like, so to that degree, yes, you can rotate the pod.

Right now, I have to say approx. 8 weeks. I need the final quote from my tooling source, and then I need to coordinate my financials. Once I get the tool kicked off, it'll be about 6 weeks. I'm hoping to get the tool started in the next two weeks, but I can't say that's a hard timeline. It may flux a week or two...hopefully no more than that. ;)

Yeah, I thought that would be prohibitive to many. I wouldn't pay that, LOL!

As it is, $35-$40 is about the outside of what I feel fair market value is.

were answered clearly, sorry I just enjoy the thought process of design. What you would like to have and how to get there y'know. In fantasy land I would like to have the ability to move the gauge on two axis as in up down and left right then adding the feature of being able rotate the sleeve. Then I could find most any angle in relation to the viewer, namely me. When I secure the gauge to the inner rotating sleeve. But this is a fun project thanks again for sharing the process with us.
