so what if the springs aren't colored... which do i use? mine didn't come with any instructions and i didn't get any shims.

It should of came with 3 springs,Yellow,blue and red..You would want to use the blue.If they dont have any color on them for some reason you should be able to compress them and tell which the weakest and strongest.The yellow should be the easiest to compress and the red should be the hardest.and you say you didnt get any shims?Im guessing you bought it used.You may not even have the right springs for it so I dont know If I would even use any of them.You can order springs and shims from forge on there web page,I think I would do that.
 
Im a big 311 fan also..Im guessing you are talking about the band in your username.Amber has been one of my favorite songs since it came out.

Patty, is it bad to run the heavy spring? What could this do to compromise the engine or This particular little turbo ? thanks
 
The middle should be blue which is what most people here seem to have the vest results using in their valves at stock or slightly above levels.

Shouldn't be an issue. Engine vacuum alone is enough to lift our hardest spring, so any point the manifold is under vacuum the valve will open.
 
I just installed a Forge BPV I got from SU. Mine had the yellow spring already installed and also had no instructions. Checking the Forge website I saw the unit was already configured for the car (stock I assume). Any real advantage to going to the stiffer blue spring? I see most on this board are using it. I also have a Cobb SRI installed if that makes a difference.
