Homelink mirror install

I bought this mirror and the instructions refer to a fiber stick but I do not know what that is? It looks like a fingernail file??? Any ideas?

Im not sure but I would pull down part of the roof panel or the lights over the mirror and see what connections are up in there.I bet there is a plug up there already.
Im thinking about going to a junk yard and getting a auto diming mirror off another car to install in mine to save a few $$..I think I will look for a homelink one while Im there but Im guessing that will be harder to find.

I got one of these for my Ram pickup (not necessarily this very one, but I don't have time this morning to find the exact model). Works really well.

Speaking of HomeLink, I've tried to get the one in my MS3 to program, and it doesn't wanna cooperate. Is there a trick? I even cleared out the door opener and tried to program it. No luck. I was able to easily re-program the "C" and my Ram, as well as the keypad.
