hahaha. anyone else think our horns are anemic sounding?

wow, for the first time yesterday, i blasted a fool with my horn in anger. we both started laughing. even my wife thought it sounded, "cute".

ironically, it sounds very similar to my 911 horn.

The horn is super lame:mad: I hate having a lame horn, but hey the rest of the car makes up for it(cool)

Soooo easy to fix. You can add a low tone horn for $15 and 30 minutes of your time. There is even an existing bracket all ready for it.

With that, it sounds completely normal.

yep.

Hella makes a vast selection of horns of which can be added to supplement what you have.

While you can get similar looking products at the chain retailers, brands like Wolo, Fiamm, etc, they are subpar in most way to Hella. In my old Civic, I added a Hella dual tone air horn kit, using only the short horn and it really made for a safer driving experience when used in conjunction with the factory horn. the compressor was of really nice quality and so was the relay, and those two things are really what that kind of horn depend on.

as you can see, there are alot of options. the best disc option is the supertone set. it replaces your single disc with a low and a high. this setup is very durable and LOUD!

I've put Hella supertones on my previous cars, not too loud but when your blasting them at someone they cant hear their cell phone convo over your horns.(evil) I dont see much room under the hood of the ms3 though.

I don't think so. But here's how to do it:

1. Remove bumper
2. Screw low tone horn (available at Autozone) onto the extra bracket located right next to the existing high tone horn.
3. Tap into power from existing horn
4. Replace bumper

Here is the horn I bought. Autozone has two types, a disc type and a snail type. The snail type will screw right onto the extra bracket, so that's the one to get.

Thank you, exactly the info I was looking for

No problem. It was, by far, the easiest mod I have done so far. I can't imagine why any MS3 owner wouldn't do this. It takes 30 minutes, $15, and all of one tool (a phillips screwdriver to remove the bumper). So easy, and so rewarding.

Ok guys I got a vid for fun, lol.

Pretty easy install, huh. As the low tone horn wears in a little, it will sound even better. Also, with the bumper back on, the two horns blend to sound like one.
