built cat back?

so i went to a racing thing this weekend at our local track and there was a guy with a ms3 set up for people to look at his car was so gorgeous and clean we started talkin and i told him i just ordered my intake and i was going to order my bpv and cat back the following weak. he told me his company could build me a cat back for hella cheaper. he said he can replace the second resonator with a muffler thing or something that spreads the air and creates a vortex to get it out faster and put one at the back as well he said id get really good gain out of that and it sounds like i would. then i asked about full piping all the way back. he said it would run about 300 for a full cat back that was welded. do i want a welded cat back or not? or should i just do the resonator replacement thing. but where i have a hard time comin to a decision is i want to do a dp in the future and if i keep the stock exhaust will it work cause the stock exhaust is 2.5 inches and the dp would be like 3. if he welds my cat back on will i still be able to connect a dp to it without having to weld? and last but not we all know our problem of the bad seals. are the resonators the cats or are they two different things cause i dont wana replace the cats and have the burning oil problem.

i (as well as many others) have dyno proof that a cat back on a stock or mildly modded car is not worth a damn thing power wise. seriously $500+ for
2 HP/5TQ ....no thanks. if you want sound do what i did. go to ANY muffler shop and have them chop out BOTH resonators and replace them with straight pipe. it sounds really good, and cost me $75. even with all my mods, i dont feel a catback is worth too much. all the exhaust restriction is in the front half. open that up, and make some power. CBE is worthless. save the $$$ and buy something that will give you some results.
