If you already had a Cobb SRI and a CS MM insert what should be next if you only had $150 to spend. (Engine Performnace only)

Test Pipe to replace 2nd Cat.
Forge BPV.
Boost Tube Kit.
TWM Shifter Base Bushings.

Anything I missed?

The shifter really needs work so I would choose the TWM Shifter Bushings first.

I have the TWM SS and Bushings and it's a very nice improvement over stock. The gears snap in easier and the feel is more precise.

I am surprised to say it, but my intercooler pipes or boost tubes have gotten very soft after 17000 miles. And boost is affected alot. I am replacing tomorrow or Sat with SU tubes, the clamps, and the Forge. I will monitor the effects on boost. But this combo or similar might make for more consistent performance foundation. I know, over the budget. but isn't that kinda how it goes?! not to take anything away from the other choices. All wise choices.

You need to be able to properly monitor your engine. It may not add power, but it might help you keep making power. Budget for a boost gauge.

Thanks for responding. I'm leaning toward the Test pipe. I saw somewhere that a company was selling an Aluminized test pipe for under $100. They also offered a SS one for an additional $30 but I can't find it again.

hmm, I have no idea who you may be talking about. It's not any of the popular ones, thats for sure.

The cheapest is probably pt-performance's test pipe. I think its 125.
Everything else is all around 150.
Corksport and turboxs.

Id go with either ptp's or corksports.

Ok, I'm in for the boost gauge. Which one should I get and how hard are they to hook up. I want mine to look like it came from the factory. I have seen many different installs and like the ones that are low near the cig lighter but it would be hard to see it there. I don't want to spend the money on a Dash Hawk when the Cobb Ap may be here soon. Where do you have yours installed and pics would be great.

Thanks.

you dont boost gauge now for almost stock car......when your mods will get more serious then buy a boost gauge

+1
Yeah all this talk about a boost gauge being so damn important is just ridiculous! The car didn't come with one for a reason, if you like to think it helps so much, by all means go ahead a fork over the $$. It's a straight up "RICE" mod unless you've done some pretty serious Modifications.

Get the shifter base bushings as they aren't much $$ and improve the shifting action which makes the car more enjoyable to drive.

It didn't come with one because mazda is cheap and probly didn't want to take up any interior space with one for someone looking at the car that could care less about modding it. If your going to start working on your car and adding parts to it you should at least go to autozone and get a little cheapy one so you could keep an eye on how your car is behaving.
