2007 Mazda6 s,
Hey everyone,

I just wanted to take a quick second and introduce myself... I think I might have found a new home for a little bit. I'm brand new to Mazda's. I'm not new into modifying vehicles, and having some fun with them. I'm picking up a 2007 Mazda6 as soon as a settlement check clears through the bank in result of my last vehicle. I was driving a 2003 Dodge Dakota, but through the wonderful time that the state of Michigan is currently going through, I was [sarcasm] lucky [/sarcasm] enough to experience what its like to have a vehicle stolen, and then later found stripped and burned to the ground.

Let me recommend not experiencing that. Not the way to start off 2008.

Anyways, I'm over in Novi, and hopefully I'll pick up some tips and make some new friends. I'm really used to the whole forums thing... due to the fact that I owned one (www.dakotausa.com) But now I'm not driving one... So, its onto something new and fun.

Ummm, other than that... I've got a new vehicle to learn and figure out. So I look forward to chatting with ya'll about it.

Welcome, I'm a new to Mazda's as well and in the same area. Sorry to hear about your Dakota, where about was it stolen from? Good luck with your 6 and GO WINGS! (love the icon btw)

Welcome and enjoy the stay here. Glad you found the Michigan section, where the real fun is. Anyways, fellow 6 owner here and former Protege owner. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks guys... not that many people around the Michigan area or whats the deal?

I just picked it up from the dealer yesterday, I'm going to be giving a call back to complain. I turned on the running lights, one of the bulbs were burnt out... the gas tank was empty, they didn't have any screws to mount my license plate (am I bitching too much?) Ugh... ass dealers.

Other than that.. I already love it... I love the speed... I love the feeling... however driving down 696 yesterday I didn't even notice I was going 90. Its going to be a good reason to get a new radar detector.

But anyways, thanks for the welcome.. I look forward to meeting some of you!

Wow, where did you buy? I would be livid! Since we have a new guy anyone in on a Sunday morning drive this weekend? Tunersteve seems to have the hook up on some good routes.. Whats up on throwing a whoever shows up showsup drive?

I bought it off of a Pontiac Dealers lot. It was a trade in... So I don't know what type of legality I have against it. But selling it with the burnt out light, has to be illegal. Right? Selling something that isn't safe to be driven?

Well, if it's just the little 194 bulb in the same part as the high beam, then it's not really that big of a deal, but, they should make sure it's got gas and can be driven off the lot without a problem.

Got any pics yet?

I'd be pissed too, the dealer defiantly should notice something like that. Along with calling just drive back to the dealer and bug them about it, as long as its not too far out of your way. Defiantly have to watch those freeway cruising speeds, gets me every once and a while too.
Before I even left the garage when I picked up my car I had the service manager come out with a clay bar and wax to touch up some spots I wasnt happy with. The car still had a bit of rail dust on it which I've still found more specs around. Then again I may be a bit over the top about my car.

Well I guess it's my turn to say welcome! It's good to see another Mazda person around here. It doesn't really seem like we have many people from Michigan on these forums. I'm sure you'll be able to meet some of us during the summer on the "Fun Drives" that get set up.

Its the bulb thats in the headlight assembly when you turn the running lights on. *shrug*

No! No pics of the MS6 yet, but I'm dying to take some. I believe its the Tungsten Grey Metallic color... Its the s series... *shrug*

I'm an amature photographer and I can't wait to have some fun with this car. I've got enough of my Dakota to choke a horse though.

Picked it up...

When I bought my Protege at Sesi, the saleswoman made me walk around with her and she inspected every inch of the vehicle with me. There was a little dent, so she scheduled the painless dent removal, and anything odd she had cleaned/fixed/etc.

At Gorno, they basically handed me the keys and sent me on my way. The car had grease on the trim, wheels were dirty, and the alignment was off. The survey reflected that harshly.

Yeah, those are 194. The drivers side you'll need to take the top half of the airbox off, but the passenger side isn't too much trouble. You can get the LEDs so that they won't burn out, and they'll match your HIDs more closely.

I can't see the pics since I'm at work, but the Titanium Grey is a nice color as well. Let me know if you've got any questions.

Oh, I forgot, go get the bulb (if you need one I have many in my garage) and fix the darn thing and never go back to that dealership!

Come on, no one replied about a Saturday or Sunday morning drive... Whats up everyone? Lets tear it up!

I've got a photo shoot on Saturday morning, Wings game in the afternoon.

Sunday I'm going to be heading over to Belle Isle. Thanks for the offer though.. I like the cruise idea.

What kind of photo shoot? You've peaked my interest with photography, car, and wings talk now.

The cruise idea is a good idea, even if it isnt a big cruise like tunersteve is setting up.

Saturday I will be at the wings game but sunday morning might work.

A group of photographers that i belong to have been contracted to photograph the Whitney Restaurant downtown so that they can have some new images for their new website they are publishing.

By any chance do you belong to Flickr?
