CorkSport FMIC Installed!

What did you need to get to cut the holes? Did you just use a hole saw? I'm currious about what needs to be cut.

you can use a dremmel with a diamond cut blade or you can use metal snipe cutters. i used and combination of both and the cuts came out very well. no big deal.

You could have just purchased the Hiboost FMIC kit and avoided all of that cutting. Am I right?

the cutting is no big deal. just have the right tools and everything is cool. the piping for the hiboost kit is extra long which means extra lag. the corksport instructions is very detailed and they give you everthing you need for the install. i couldn't be happier. the only kit that rivals the corksport is the might perrin fmic that can be found on Jcell car. Holla Back!

It didn't take much cutting the only downside IMO is that you have to run without tow hooks. I think too me that is a big deal. Specially if you are ever in need of a toe. You have to remove the two towing hooks and cut away some of the sheet metal. We used these plier looking things called snips. Worked good but you need to put some good muscle to cut through the thicker portions. All in all the Kit WORKS great, fits even better and the core itself and piping have 0 and I mean 0 room for vibrating. Everything is bolted down to stock locations.

Damm...so the tow hooks need to go eh. Always something...guess I'll just get the core and custom make the pipes to run like the perrin.

you wont be able to. The Perrin core has the end tanks facing the car and not the sides like the Corksport. I say go with the TurboLife kit if you are worried about the tow hooks. But then remember you gotta loose the as I call it " the don't die bar" (re-inforcement bar). So if you get into and accident....say GOODBYE to the car and prolly yourself.

Ya I know but check this out...it was for sale not to long ago and I like the idea. You keep the "don't die bar" and you also keep the tow hooks. The route is shorter aswell.

you dont need the dont die bar. the one that comes with the perrin kit is good enough, plus the block will stop some of whatever you hit. hopefully the block dosnt come through the firewall though...

I doubt that bro. No way you are gonna convince me that skinny little bar is gonna protect me over the stock bar. The FMIC is basically nothing also. Just some aluminum. I rather not risk my life either to find out. To each their own though.

yeah man, the perrin one is like having nothing. it will not protect you at all.

I wasnt able to keep the "dont die bar" with that kit.. It was either, notch out some of the dont die bar (which I dont have anything that could cut through it) or take it off..
