Twiggy Sticks Install, tuning and results thread

Happened to me as well ... when Dana was putting my head together, he ran into the same problem - they had to be sent out and machined AGAIN.
On a side note, I still need a pair of the cam plugs (arrgh - yes you sent Dana a set ... Thank you), any leads on where to get some? I hav'nt contacted Dana yet, but it looks as if they are really needed ...

First Bala,
I have to say I wish you had shared this with the rest of us sooner.

Second,
I sent you "THE" only set of plugs.
I carefully sealed and mailed these to Dana per your instructions AND alerted him it was coming too. There are no more.

This most likely means the cams were repaired improperly. I spoke today with Dema Elgin. I doubt Elgin cams did anything wrong, but I now question the specs they were given.

I have requested my cams be mic'd again.
Anyone else who was in the repaired cams group should do the same.
My big question is, has any of the "repaired" cams been successfully installed?

Once again, I Thank you. Without doubt, you went above and beyond - even to the point of rebuffing my offer to compensate you for your help. I'll keep looking for a solution as I'm certainly not going to let two plugs stop the party after all this crap.

I sent 2 sets (all i could get) of plugs to Joka for his build....so he's got spares.....perhaps someone could use those spares to get a bunch of other plugs made/purchased/whatever?

The plugs are simply welch plugs.....and i'd think once you have dimensions, you'd be able to locate replacements.

Sorry Bala, guess I blanked on that one. Def my bad.

lol - no prob my man, it was waaay back in August. All of our builds are running on different time schedules and priorities. I've pm'd Dana and I'll shoot one at Joka ... I will get these running! I'll keep everyone posted ...

I need some plugs also...so if you guys find some please let me know the dimensions so i can source some.

I have 1 new set of plugs. I dont know how to handle them since I have a ton of PM's from members requiring them. Does anybody know where to get some made if I measure them or somthing.

i think any good machine shop should be able to handle it...i could find out and do it if you shipped them to me...i could also make some CAD drawings of them if you shipped them to me that way members could just have them cut somewhere...or maybe if you called one of the major cam manufacturers they could direct you in the correct direction

more to the point, a phone call to an engineer, requesting a welch plug that matches the dimensions would be the way to go......CAD drawings are probably overkill.

I was just offering what i could do to help...thats a good idea too, the welch plug might be available already, just need the dimensions.

Just for clarification; these plugs go in on the cam gear side - correct? As I have a hex bolt on the other side.

yes....the end the strange ballbearing thingamagig on the stocko cams goes...

thems the most close up piccies of the ends of cams i ever did see....

Well my update is ...pending

Tight clearance was created at cam cap.
Small amount removed from cap.
Likely caps were shuffled in a previous dis-assembly without proper reassembly (thanks)
This was also apparent from the screws also being out of numerical sequence.
Also need 2 more bolts to replace removed snapped ones.

I am growing concerned re: the kasman cam gears and the CPS.
Just read the other thread yesterday

Ditch the KKasman cam gears. They do not reference well with the CPS. This will apply to stock ECUs as well as aftermarket engine management. I originally thought it was a problem with their install but it is the way they are designed.
