MS3 Sport vs. MS3 GT

I didn't care for the GT. Leather isn't me, the Bose system actual sounded inferior to me (it was quite a lot of static on a strong local radio channel), I HATE rain sensing wipers, and I can hook up an HID kit for $150.

Not to mention a lower monthly payment because it's a cheaper vehicle.

In the long run, the MS3 is MORE than enough car for me. Quiet and smooth but responsive (used to a 2 inch dropped Integra which was definitly not the first two), POWERFUL, and you still have creature comforts like MP3 cd, heat a/c, power steering, cruise, etc. For me it was more about having a Mazdaspeed3 than all the bells and whistles

In the long run I really don't think you're going to feel much of a difference between the two since the majority of the people who buy this car are looking more for performance and practicality than luxury. I've listened to the Bose system and it's mediocre at best, the leather is pointless IMO since it's not on the entire seat, there's no seat warmers, power seats, heated mirrors, or sunroof on the GT...so IMO you're paying an extra 2G's on lights, a dim mirror and auto wipers...once someone finds the DIS hack on the 2008 sport it's really not worth getting the GT...but this is just my .02 The 2008.5, however, I might foot the bill for since the alcantara looks amazing and fits the leather seat much better.

Some of you guys apparently don't even know all the things the GT model has.

Xenon HID automatic on/off headlights - These are very nice plus they are adjustable.

Rain-sensing front windshield wipers - Not such a big deal

LED rear combination taillights - These look cool

Bose premium audio system, 222-watt digital amplifier, 7 speakers - A lot better than most people think if you no how to adjust the settings.

In-dash 6-disc CD changer - Beats changing out CD's all the time.

Driving information system (trip computer) - Comes in handy and is neat

Theft-deterrent security system - Very cool

Mazdaspeed seats with leather bolsters - Makes the interior look a lot better.

* If you don't think having all these things OEM wont help the re-sale value then I don't know what to tell you

MSRP: $24,690*

Thanks, now I remember why I forked over the extra cash. (drive)

yeah I think the mark-up looks like it's alot at first, but it will definitely enhance the look of the car, and add to the resale value.

Not GT, only the sport.
6 CD changer? Eh, my MP3 CD player fits me just fine ;)
Oh, and mine DOES have the theft deterrent security system and computer chip keys... otherwise I actually would have paid extra for the GT. My 0.02

All i wanted was an ipod jack and it came standard. Other then that, i cant justify paying extra for "premium" stuff. This isnt a luxury car and i will likely beat the crap out of it and put plenty of miles on it before thinking of a trade in or a selling it outright so I dont care for extras.

I will only buy the premium stuff if I am buying a new corvette or Shelby GT500

so does the cd player in the SPORT. PLAY mp3s?? or no?? Cause i'd hate to plug my iPhone up to the car ALL the time and have wires all over the place...

I have a non GT 2008 (2008.5 Metro Gray) without the Bose and I use both my aux input jack and MP3 cds in my stereo. Hope this helps.

i decided im going to try and buy a GT :) HIDs are worth it enough for me :) and the seats are bad ass;-D ooh, and forgot about the LED tails too!

The Sport has a "theft deterrent system" in so far as it has the ignition coded keys. It does not have forced door sensors AFAIK. For those with sport models...close the doors with the windows open and click the lock button on the key fob. Now reach in and manually unlock and open the door. Does the horn start sounding? If so, I was wrong.
This was a major selling point, as I do not trust aftermarket alarms. The other major selling points were the upgraded stereo (though I am a fan of aftermarket, the intrgration is horrible on new cars appearance wise) and seats. I could've lived without NAV, but it is nice now that I have it. Couldn't care less about HIDs or Rain-sensing wipers.

the first half of that was a good point! I wouldnt wanna go aftermarket alarm (like i had before).

why not? whats wrong with aftermarket alarms?

I really don't have anything against aftermarket alarms, i just wouldn't buy another one - I'd rather just have all my factory security (if it works), ya know? If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it (alarm = make LOUD noises when someone tries to break in, or open the car) - if it does that, i'm cool w/ it. :) Also, if it disables the motor from starting - that is what makes a good alarm (to me?)
