Oil change to Royal Purple

Changed to Full synthetic today, since mobile one and RP were the same price , I opted to go with RP since i used it in my Protege Turbo.

One thing i noticed right off the back.. Damn the car runs smoother... no roughness to it anymore, i was surprised that oil could make that much of a difference..

The dealer I bought my car from put 5w20 in my car just before I bought it (used), so they obviously figured it was the same oil as the Mazda 3, so I would assume its conventional oil as well, especially since on the sticky it isnt noted as synthetic. They are even an authorized Mazdaspeed dealer.

I have never looked so forward to an oil change before in my life. 12qts of Redline 5w30 and 3qts MT-90 are in transit as we speak!

Im anxious to see how the synthetic oils affect the car, a lot of people really seem to love what they do for the engine and tranny.

Royal is the s***! and redline rates as well. Can't wait to do tranny too. When I finish break-in I switch to Purple on all my cars. The difference is a physical experience, at idle and high rpm, cold starts are almost no valvetrain noise. I am sure the amsoil redline and some others do as well or maybe better but any of these are well worth the price!

well, i almost went with mobile 1, but RP was 1 dollar more per quart and i heard alot of good things about it.. so i was like what the hell... but damn 6 quarts.. didnt know this engine had it in it.. lol..

I just switched to Mobile 1, car has 980 miles on it and 6 quarts I couldn't believe it.

I have been running Royal Purple for almost 20,000 miles now and I couldn't be happier. I have an oil sample kit from Blackstone Labs next to me and will be sending it in for analysis next oil change. By the way, I have never been over 3,000 miles between oil changes. Nothing like good preventative maint. to keep a car running great for a LONG time.

Royal Purple made a HUGE difference in the way my Integra drove. I did the gear oil as well and it was like I took 50,000 miles off the engine and tranny!
