well, my custom turbo kit is complete. it was a b**** finding all the little parts. it took about 4 weeks to get everything together but everything finally worked out. here is the list of things i have purchased

hiboost manifold
hiboost s pipe
hiboost j pipe
wrx turbo (td04, water and oil cooled, wastegate is set to 7 psi, but hitting around 5-6 because of intercooler piping)
custom front mount intercooler set up
type s bov
msp ecu
splitsecond afc
custom oil lines
custom coolant lines

i have many other mods as well, but these are things that bought turbo related. i have the superstock map on there now, but it is running 10.0 afr's, so i have to retune. here are pics and videos.

the turbo set up was rather complicated since no one is running this turbo with the hiboost kit, so i had clock the turbo for my set up, but other than that, the build was pretty strait foward. the turbo came off a wrx and the internal wastegate as well. even though the wrx does about 14 psi stock, the wastegate is set to 7 psi, and their ecu has a built in boost controller.

ill post pics of the car with the bumper next weekend. im in college so i have to wait a full week.(shrug)

95,000 miles.

i know i know, its alot. but, this engine could not be in better condition. my spark plugs could not be any better, and when i dropped the oil pan, i could not find any shavings what so ever. the reason why i never went turbod before was because of the mileage. but i realized that was stupid because my engine is in great condition and i was sick of making excusses!

going turbod, i followed all of the precausions and made sure i knew what i was doing when installing everything.

yea I know what you mean, mine has 72000 miles and I decided to sell the kit instead of putting it on.. maybe I'll turbo it if I cant sell the kit, we'll see

95,000 miles.

I'm at 93k miles and that's what scares me from going turbo. But as you mentioned, I've taken good care of my engine. When I start it up this summer I had planned on checking oil pan, compression test, and other maintenances to make sure everything is ok at this point.

i did not know you were in college james! props to you man. how did you come up with money etc? do you live on or off campus? maybe i'll start storing my extra financial aid money in a separate account for my car. haha.

my house is in central new jersey, and i go to pace university in NYC. i live at the college in mahattan, but this semmester i decided to work on the weekends back at home. so i work on my car on the weekends and plan out on the week days what im going to do.

i have been saving money and been making money so thats why i can afford everything. i actually got the kit for quite cheap. the only thing i regret on buying a custom kit is the fact that it was a b**** on finding all the small things. for example, a locking nut that is 3/8npt to tap the oil pan. that was the biggest b**** to find!
