No offense, but do you know what you're talking about? First of all, no one buys an evo and keeps it stock. The evo X is already making 350whp with bolt ons. It actually gets TRACTION (unlike a high power FWD car), and it will outhandle an MS3, and look better while doing it. And MOST importantly, the platform has a LOT of support and lightyears more potential than a speed 3.

I'm running an MP3 that will probably smoke almost every speed 3 on this board, and will beat the evo X in a drag race as well. And as fun as it is to drive, I have to baby it until 3rd gear since I can't hook up. In all honesty, a speed 3 would be a complete waste of my time. I could supe it up and probably make more power than I do out of my MP3...which already has more power than it can use anyway.

My goal here is to outdo what I've already got, and the MS3 just won't do that very easily.

Well Said Kooldino, and EVO is an EVO, and no Mazda can keep up with the power these engines can make, the only limits is your pocket, thats all.

Full red dots on consumer reports is NORMAL for a brand new car...it's not old enough to have a million things go wrong with it yet.

You can love your MZR motor all day long, and I'll admit it's a good motor, but the 4B11T makes more power and responds better to mods than the MZR does.

WRONG!!! new cars don't get full red dots its not normal!!!! only cars with stellar reputaiont over 1year get full red dots! you need to read consumer reports...

I can Understand you, you own A Speed3, what else you are going to say.. i respect your opinion but that doesn't mean you are right !!, Mitsubishi cars are and always being in another level than Mazda in the Japanese Manufacture, not to mention HONDA is in first Place Next to Toyota, where their cars truly last for ever !!!

I want to run 11s in my next car, have traction the whole way down the strip, and not sacrifice streetability.

saw this vid the other day about the new evo x and for 1000 dollars you can get this vishnu upgrade that nets 75hp (or more), now that grand doesn't seem too bad after spending 30k some for 291 hp outta the box.

Dino still has his MP3-T that's probably up around 350whp!

So he didn't trade off for AWD! It's going to take some time to be faster than the MP3 which will put a whoopin on 99% of the cars on the street!

He just has to decide which car to drive to match his clothing to for the day!

Not to argue, as it seems there is another arguement already going strong, but you have Mitsu as number two? Have not heard of a 1g or 2g?lol They should come with jackstands and an Autozone credit card. Yes the Evo and Lancer are reliable but that is about where it stops. Where as Toyota/Lexus can run forever with little to no repairs. My AE86 was strong through 345K until it was totaled. Two Camry's with over 280k on them. Pretty solid across the board.

You also said that is your personal opinion so you may be basing it on cars taht you have owned or been around that were more reliable then the average Mitsu.

With all due respect, I've probably been reading consumer reports since you were shitting mustard.

In 4 or 5 years, go ahead and look at the engine ratings again. I promise you it will have gotten worse over time since the cars will have aged more, more engines will have fallen out, and more things have a chance to go wrong.

Consumer report dont mean crap, thats only one time test and review, you need to deal and feel it day by day. i could careless what a review says when real life is another story. you cant compared a Mitsubishi Evolution to any actual Mazda in the market, the Mitsubishi engines takes and makes more power than any Mazda engine out there, lots more parts, better and stronger engines. I mean I have a 400whp+ Mazdaspeed Protg with a GT3582R turbo, and with the same amount of money i have put into these car near 25k, will probably by now own a near 700-900whp Evolution, I mean I love my car dude and most likely will never change it for an evo at these point, but iam realistic Mitsubishis Evos, and not to mention their Japanese line up cars like the FTO etc are better and make more power than any Mazda. dont get mad the truth have only one route
