Softer ride?

I don't know much about cars but I know that I love my MS3 however the constant jitters and bumps from even the smallest of nooks in the road is killing me!

Any suggestions about what I can do to soften the ride? I'm willing to sacrifice some performance for a smoother ride. If I should get a new suspension kit then which one should I get? Cost effective if possible.

best shot is a smaller tire and wheel

smaller wheel with a higher profile tire. More rubber will absorb more bumps and whatnot.
If it's still killing you, maybe softer springs? from a regular mazda 3 maybe, if they'll fit.

17 inch wheel with a 225/45 will make a big difference in ride quality.
