Does anyone know what CAI/SRI work with the ATP 3" inlet stuff...

I tried to instal it with my Injen CAI and f#$*ing failed! I had to re-install the stock airbox...(notcool)...

So... What CAI/SRI's can i use? And can i use the Injen one that currently have (because i love it and hope to keep it)....

Secondly, the STP 3" Inlet Piping...ROCKS!!!(thumb)

Nothing fits except for the Mazdaspeed CAI, and the ATP Short Ram. If you want to to fit it to your injen, then you're going to have to do some customization.

thanks...i think that i will probably do something this week. i didnt even know that ATP had a short ram...

the Mazdaspeed and the AEM intakes are almost identical (minus the straightener) so it would work with the AEM as well.

i like where this is going because i do prefer the CAI over a SRI...ill check out the AEM

Depends they both have their pros and cons. You would think the inlet would work best with a short ram since the less length in the piping the quicker the air gets to the turbo, but under the wheel well is a stronger source for cold air. I'm thinking about doing the inlet with the short ram then going FMIC lol.

Do you know what outer diameter the Injen CAI is? Just wrap something around the injen tube, make two marks on that wrap, pull it off and measure the circumference. Divide that by pi (~3.14159) and that is your diameter.

The MS CAI is 2.75" O.D. and all you need for that is the 2.75" to 3" step up sleeve from ATP. I'm not sure what the angle is that the injen comes into the turbo inlet, but I'm assuming it is pretty close to the MS CAI. Can you take a picture of your engine compartment with the ingen installed? I could tell you what you need to do.

i have a good question,
can I recirc with the inlet. does it have a place to put the return from the bov back to the intake???

It comes with two 1", 90 degree nipples. One for PCV and one for BPV.

Since you have the MS CAI, you will get a plug for one of the nipples. You should also receive a step-up sleeve to fit the 3" 45 degree elbow to your MS CAI they send you. The problem with this configuration is that getting the angles right so that the CAI filter doesn't rub in the fender is hard.

For the BPV return, If you plan to use the 2 hoses they send you, you'll need to go buy a coupler to connect them together and be prepared to fight with the hose attaching to the BPV. The stock BPV is 1 1/8" and the hose they send you is 1". If you have a Forge BPV, the hose will fit fine.

You might also want to drill out the holes in the mounting plate for the white, platic ECU harness cover that sits right next to the battery box. The mounting plate needs to be shifted slightly against the battery box for the best fittament of the inlet or else it will rub.

You might find this helpfull:

wow, im having second thoughts about it!! lol, i just have to do it with plenty of time on my hands, just incase. thanks for the pics, highly valuable!

Actually, if it wasnt for trying to mate the injen CAI to the ATP inlet... it wouldnt have taken that long.

I ended up buying ATP intake and i will be selling my Injen CAI soon...actually, as soon as i get pics of it.

Does anybody know if the inlet pipe will work with the TurboXS FMIC? I'm looking to match with that setup.

You know that it's the CAI that matters how the inlet will work, right? The inlet doesn't change anything with how a FMIC will work.

I'm aware, that's not my question. I haven't seen the piping on the TurboXS' FMIC. Since the inlet is a lot bigger/thicker I didn't know if there was a an issue with these two.

Sorry man!! I never responded to your question...however, i did read it...

Anyway, i believe it is the same size, but the problem is that the part that at one point mated with the stock inlet is too long, or actually, the ATP inlet is longer than the stock inlet; therefore, it does not mate properly.

Ultimately, i ended up just ordering the ATP SRI because during install we broke off one of the little nipple things (forgive me for the bad description, i am still a little new to all of this).... And now i am on to another set of problems... see post that i am about to start in this section...
