What have you done to your P5 today?

Today I took the intake manifold off of motor #1 in the garage. Then I put all the pieces of motor #1 into the hatch back. Then I'm taking the P5 to a friend who works at a dealership. He'll be rebuilding the motor for me at the shop on his days off.
Motor #1 will be combined with motor #2 (currently in car with a knock) to make motor #3.
Motor #1 will be combined with motor #2 (currently in car with a knock) to make motor #3.

Got off work early so I rotated the tires. While I had them off, I did a quick wipe down of the wheel faces and brake calipers. Too f'n cold to do much else.
I did have some help though.

To be honest he wanted to do all of it by himself. I wouldn't let him physically unmount or remount the tires though. That second shot is where he turned and was barking orders like a crew chief. lol

Went to a local car show - didn't win anything but it kind of sucks because they gave 2nd place Mild Mazda to a bone-stock MS3, wtf? I don't really care that I didn't go anything but the fact a stock car beat out a bunch of modified cars (even though slower) kind of sucks. I also determined I am just a tad bit slower than another P5T member on these forums...

Karl (rotaryman25) looked at my car today. #4 went bad due to oil starvation.
He's going to pull the motor for me and combine Motor #1 & motor #2 to make motor #3. While the car is at the shop he is going to swap in my mazdaspeed limited transmission with the welded diff. He said while the motor is out he'll install my mazdaspeed front sway bar. In trade I'm giving him my current 5 speed for his other P5 with an auto (he has two P5's, a first gen RX7 and a MX6).

Well that is some bad news, but even better news though! You will have a sweet motor and tranny when it is all said and done.
