May need help installing the WGA

don't launch it too hard, never know how much strain has alrady been put on your LSD, limited slip differential. It is the known weakpoint in the tranny. It actually is a good LSD, just got put together poorly. Maybe if you get the Colt runnign and drivable we can pull your tranny off and get the diff housing welded up for you, no worries then. Tranny wise anyways.

Well, the Colt would run (with stuttering when it shifts) like it has been if I would just get off my ass and buy it a new battery. However, the only one Autozone "has" is the top of the line one. Sorry but right now, it's just an 87 Colt Vista, not a Porsche. Kiss my ass AZ.(flame2)

Dude...a battery, is a battery...is a battery...

Read: STS2 guys using motorcycle batteries.

Just get one!

hey dale get me a pic of the battery thats in there now and possibly the dimensions i will see if i can snag a used "dead" (Read needs a recharge) battery from work

There ya go Dale. Thats why the GACC rocks out with it's cock out

With the money you save, you can buy my suspension stuff!

Ok. I'll go do that. I was gonna go to Scott's (as I was invited believe it or not) but I think I didn't get his address in time and if I leave now, it'll be too late. No big deal, I'll just wait for the bowling deal. Be back in a sec to get a pic.

well i wont have the battery until two weeks from now but i will let you know

Whats up with mazda being unable to make a decent differential?

they didn't make our diff, fujikata or some s*** did, and its a good lsd. mazda did a poor cheap job in putting the housing together. Mine held on pretty good considering the abuse it went through, especially the day it broke. Korey's never broke, he just welded it to prevent it. Every car manufacturer has a weak spot somewhere in the drivetrain.

Gotcha. It just seems like that's the consistent failing point through their fwd line. My F25m-r differential sheared itself to death with about 107k. As with the LSD, it's a known problem, not just on a case by case basis

yea, and they rectified it for the 03.5s I believe, that came with the welded diff from the factory.

no they didnt...it was a "revised" diff engagment point was a little different which prevented it from shearing as easily but it still did case and point scotts car...his is even a 03.7. None of the MSP factory diffs ever came welded i just got lucky mine never broke.

And your right scott just about everybody has a weak point. Mitsu is their transfer cases, Subaru had the bad 5speeds in the WRX and the rear ends are the weak point in the STi

I stand corrected. Dunno why I thought the revised diff was welded. Thank you good sir (rei)
