What is the lowest temperature recorded on your Mazda5?

I saw a -14F here this past week (St. Paul) - Windchill was something ridiculous - I won't even go there. The digital display was pretty lethargic and the manual shifter was like moving tar. Do any versions come with plug-in engine block heaters?

(Somewhat) on topic: Does every 5 have the temp display there, and mine is just turned off? All that the display in my 5 shows is the radio settings...
(somewhat) off topic: My 5 "crunches" whenever it's below freezing. AS soon as I have time, it's going in to see what the dealer will do for that.
Oh yeah, last Tuesday it was -18F. The 5 fired right up and drove fine. It's nice not having a 15+ year old car anymore.

Only the auto climate controls have it AFAIK. I do think the sensor may be mounted up front of the radiator though. I haven't dug through the service manual to see what those sensors are though. One is likely to be the airbag sensor.

I have the MZ5 2006.. the crunch comes up beginning of the cold season. This past weeks we have a deep freeze at -27 to -30 celcius. The crunching sound is nowhere to be heard. So I think the crunch happens only at certain range of temperature.

at -27 to -30 celsius I've been told of a crunch, but in my joints. Yet no worries, at that point I'm already freezing deaf so I don't hear sh*t (lol2)

the temps were like that for a full week here....and it was bitter cold. thank god thats over with....took the vehicles a 1/2 hr to even think about warming up...

yeah, seriously... -34*F is a level of cold I don't even want to think about. PA rarely gets below 10*F (-14*C).

there's always beer in r around the house... winter provides additional cooling space (in the snow) for the wobbly-pops and you sir are correct, it helps keep you going...

^^ I'm not originally from cold areas so it freaked me out when my Canadian buddy invited me to his place in Ontario during Winter and asked me to go and get a beer. I jumped to the fridge but there was nothing there. He laughed and pointed me to the backyard patio .

Yup, tons of beer piled up there quite lonely and ready to be opened. One of the best cold Molson Dry's I've ever tried
