Any photographers in here?

Thanks man! No cable release, although I should get one. I just set the timer on the camera and waited the 10 seconds for it to shoot. The poor-man's (aka college kid) way of not knocking the tripod / camera when taking a long exposure like that. I need to buy a cable release tho... it would make things sooo much easier sometimes

Ya, no doubt. I'm a poor college kid too. 2 second timer works.

I was at the Chicago car show the other weekend and here are a few shots that i took...I mistakenly took my 50mm 1.4 thinking that i would have a little room to step back because i didn't expect it to be as busy as it was. I had very limited range with this but i did what i could. Next time i will make a different choice...need a nice wide angle low fstop lens...possibly the 10-22 but thats some good $$$.

I'll have more from this photoshoot later, but I wanted to share this one with you guys for now.

(For the record, it was semi-staged and I really wasn't getting pulled over)

Cool pics. Just curious about the 2nd as to where the 3 red lines in front of the car came from?

As the shutter was open, a car drove in front of the camera. I didn't plan it to happen, but the effect was cool.

EDIT: Just noticed the post count... bwa ha ha ha ha hahahahahaaaaaa

so im going to Australia in 3 weeks and looking at my gear i think i will be good. I have been thinking about getting the canon 10-22mm to add for some great landscape shots. anyone here have the lens any personal thoughts about it? from all the images i have seen and everything i have read its a super fun lens, sharp, and makes a perfect mate on a crop body camera. just interested in anyone here happens to own one.

I need some help. I want to do a little photoshoot soon as its nice out. I have a 5.2MP camera. Its just a basic point and shoot, i get nice pictures sometimes.

Usually my pictures come out like crap though. I dont know if its the color of the car or what. But do you guys have any recomendations on some settings?

Ill take anything: Time of day, sun, no sun, manual mode settings.. anything that may help. I know each situation is different but i dont even know where to start.

thanks in advance.

-Bring a tripod just in case
-shoot around sunset, just before the sun disappears from the horizon, or wait for a cloudy/overcast day
-don't shoot with on-camera flash
-shoot in Manual mode..but I don't know what your camera can do
-usually shoot F5.6 to F8
-long exposures = lowest ISO setting
-bring tripod
