Wohooo, I'm excited. I found a great deal on Craig's List for some 18" RX-8 wheels yesterday. I wasn't planning on getting wheels so soon, but the deal was too good to pass up. They are nearly brand new, only used for about a month and came with factory SP Sport 8090 (225/45/18) which are also new. The rims are in great shape, there are a few small nicks, but nothing noticeable at all. I talked him down to $600 for everything. Seemed like an amazing deal so I met him tonight, and put them on.

Here are some pics:

Not the best quality pictures because my camera's batteries went dead after only two shots. I'll get some more soon.

I know the tires are a bit "beefy" compared to stock, but I personally like it. It helps fill in the fender gap of stock suspension. Longer term I would like to get a slight drop (MS Springs, or Cobb) and get the wheels powder coated light gun metal. I may have rubbing issues if lowered though... but for the price I don't care. Oh, they seem to have TPMS installed as well, since I didn't get any indicator lights. Phew!

Well, thats all for now. Hope you guys like the new look.

Everythig looks better with Rx8 wheels.

One of the Best lookin OEM wheels made to date.

god i love the way that looks. out of all the the wheels i have seen put on these cars my fav is still the rx-8 wheels. I wonder if anyone with an rx-8 wants ms3 wheels so then i can just trade with them

I agree... even though the RX-8 wheels on a MS3 has been done so many times before I still prefer it over the vast majority after market rims. The MS3 needs very specific rims to look really good.

These wheels with new tires for $600?

You stole them!

haha... yes. Thats what the guy said after I gave him the money... he was like "you know you stole these from me, right?".

Well I went to lunch today, and purposely had 5 people to see if there are rubbing issues. Turns out there are in the back, not horrendous but too annoying to not do anything about it.

I don't think it's rubbing the fenders, as they seem to be tucked in far enough, so I doubt rolling my fenders will fix it. It might be rubbing the fender plastic walls..... any decent fixes for that?

If not I'll probably remove the tires (they are new, I'm sure I could sell them for something decent) and perhaps put on the ones from my stock rims. I really wish I could make these work though.

I really, really like RX-8 wheels on these cars!!!

Now I just need to find someone and make a "steal" also.

If anyone has any advice about a 225/45/18 tires on their MS3 please let me know. I just want to know if rolling the fenders would fix rubbing or if the problem lies elsewhere.

Thanks guys.

I've got 225/40/18 on my RX-8 wheels with no rubbing issues at all. Even when I had 225/45 on them they didn't rub. Maybe a quickie alignment will fix the problem on your car?

I also have the stock 225/45/18 with no rubbing issues and those are my autocross wheels/tires!!!

Something is wrong with your set up... Is your car lowered?
What size are your tires?
