Plain and simple, find another dealer or contact Mazda directly.
I have tried another dealership..but they denied me as well.
I haven't tried calling mazda..

Adjusting??? Do you mean the pedal fix? If so, you don't have to wait for spring to do that. It takes 2 minutes with a few wrenches and a flash light.
How are you asking? That's the key. If you are rolling in and saying "I want TSB <insert number> done," expect to get a denial. What I did was complain about the exact symptoms listed in the TSB on page one and they found it themselves.
I have tried going in with the "The pedal just doesn't engauge properly...really high engaugement point..."
The first dealership i went to said..that my vin number doesn't match the TSB for this car. I than handed them the one from this site..The reps jaw dropped..(omg)
It was very funny. After they read the paperwork they suddenly said..oh yes..that's right..yours is under this tsb..blah blah blah.
They went on to say..that they didn't feel comfortable pulling apart tranny and engine to do the swap..blah blah blah..car won't be the same blah blah blah. I said whatever i want it done.
The denied my request...stating they had 3 other speed6's in the shop for similar requests but 'NONE OF THEM NEEDED IT'
The 2nd site said..that they never did the tsb for my car and stated that they would suggest against it.
I mentioned to the dealer about the writeup for the clutch pedal..but they stated that if i touch it i will void warranty for the drivetrain. Also, they stated that they wouldnt' even attempt the fix/writeup for clutch pedal adjustment.
I plan on going to a 3rd dealership about this issue and see what they say. if needs to be contact mazda directly and start naming some names..and b.s. i have dealt with..etc.

Did you find the write-up? I'm digging for it now but if you do find it I'd appreciate a link
Not sure I want to go in for the clutch fix since they might also give me the flash which some people say decreases gas mileage and seems to lower power output.
edit: Nevermind, didn't know this section had its own How-To section. I've been gone too long![]()
Lowers power output? lol, I don't know who told you that, but my car feels the same when i first drove it (it was a type-A and I had the TSB done)
as for the mileage, I wouldn't know, I always fill up my car and reset the trip odometer and i usually refill the tank between 270 to 300 miles, depends on my driving (i occassionaly like to drive "spirited")
the only thing I can think of that lowers your power output is probably the ECU reflash, some people have stated their car feels slower after getting that done.
and there should be links to the clutch pedal adjustment within the first 3 pages of this thread. (thumb)
I like the TSB LOTS better, I haven't driven a car witht he clutch adjustment, but I do know after I got the TSB, people like my best friend and my father (who's been driving manual cars for like 40 years) had a few problems stalling it when they tried driving it, after i got the TSB they both drove it pretty easy.
ACID, one thing youc an try, don't just specify about high engagement point, etc.
Make a point to let them know its a hassle for you to drive in your day to day daily commute.
Like stalling out in heavy traffic on the expressway during rush hour, etc.
how you go out to eat once a week with your wife/gf/family/whatever and the valets seem to ALWAYS stall your car, and you end up parking it yourself, etc. etc.
That's what I'm talking about. If I go in for the clutch fix they are most likely going to reflash my ECU as well since it is in their system.
they shouldn't do it
mine wasn't
plus if you know the service tech/rep well enough, you might be able to talk him into making sure they DON'T do it.
I think the reflash is a TSB as well, or is it a recall?
It really shouldn't be a recall, depending where you are, since the car was tuned for 93 octane and some places only have as high as 91.
What's the octane in your area?
One gas station here has non-ethanol 93, the rest are 92 or 91.
I used to know the techs well when I first got my MSP but I haven't been there in a while.
I did the clutch adjustment to get it to engage closer to the floor, does the clutch "fix" do more than this? I am Type-B by the way.
type b?
the clutch TSB is basically replacing parts.... so it doesn't "engage" as hard, where the clutch is gripped and ungripped and gives you that hard jerking feeling sometimes?
they're basically replacing the parts on the clutch is what the TSB is for.
OK. I read through this entire thread, and it seems as though most people recommend getting the TSB done. I have a Type A MS6, but I am at 14 months and close to 14000 miles, so when I called my service guy, naturally he balked. I explained to him that this is not a friction component of the clutch and that the 12K limit should not apply. I was extremely polite (but informed) and he was as well; he did say he would check with Mazda on getting it covered. I do a lot of city driving, and the clutch is uncomfortable to use in stop-and-go traffic, so hopefully this will be addressed properly. I'll let you know!
