What have you done to your P5 today?

Fully understand "should" & "shouldn't". When I did the vtcs removal, whenever that was, the intake manifold had some gold color to it around where the pcv hoses hook into it. There's filmy stuff inside the hose going back from vc to intake. I go thru 1/4 qrt of oil, every 2 weeks which is about 600 miles or so at 75-80mph on frwy. Just recently switched to castrol hi mileage 10-30 from syntech 0-30 german stuff with no difference in consumption. My car doesn't leak, doesn't smoke at startup or at all, pcv is clean & functional. None of the plugs look crazy & the tips are ashy color just like they should be. Compression is all good accross the cylinders. What does that leave?

Hey JPB...I was patrolling CA auto ads on craigslist and saw your car. Are you actually selling your fine ride?

anyone interested in an 4 layer, all-weather car cover for the p5? i sold my car a few months ago, and still have the cover (custom-fit/sized for the p5) sitting in the garage; used only one winter while i parked the p5, in like-new condition. $250 brand new, asking $150obo.

i also have a thread for my headunit and amp if anyone's interested; check out the fs section :)

I bought it.
Well, it was about a week ago, but you get the picture.

You can't just post up that you bought it a week ago!! We want details....color, year, 5spd or auto, any mods, do you plan to mod, etc, etc.

BTW Welcome (hi) There is a lot of useful info to be found here.

Welcome welcome again to you sir!! You'll now be broke.

Also, side note for everyone, I updated the aftermarket foglight thread, but, no hits so far. I'm contemplating ordering a set of PIAA 520's or Catz 85 watt yellow fogs. What's the opinions? Is paying the additional $100 for the name PIAA worth it? Or, would I be just as happy with Catz?

Thanks in advance.

And to keep thread related, what did I do today to my Protege? I drove past it sitting at the mechanic's shop. *Sniffle*

I spent an additional 30 minutes trying to find somewhere to run the power cable for my Amplifiers with no avail. It's starting to look like I'm going to need a 2nd set of eyes. Oh and then I drove to work (still here)

Yeah, sorry.
Well, I have an '02 Protege5. Its silver, 5-speed (only way to go), black interior. It came with clear taillights, not really a fan, but whatever.

Mods planned... Well, I havent given it much thought yet. Every other car I have ever had, I have modded. So I know I will eventually. I have mostly just been getting the thing into as good of condition as I can. I changed the timing belt with idler and tensioner, water pump, coolant flush, oil flush, new plugs, ect.

Eventually I think I want to go turbo. Seems like a pretty easy job for these cars and lets face it, if you want to go fast, there is no easier way to do it.
In the mean time I want to get a little lower/stiffer ride, better wheels, projector lights... ha, I guess I put more thought into it than I originally thought.

I joined this forum because I used it for a reference when changing my timing belt so I thought I needed to join, learn, and then give back what I can. So here I am.
I am an engineer, so if anyone needs calculations or explanations, let me know. haha.(alright)

put $20 gas. Got 347.6 miles on one tank. Probably could have gotten a few more but wasn't taking any chances.

Alright, got one for ya.

What is the circumference of a Moose?

(5 bonus points to anyone that can name the reference)
