Dealer Knows Nothing...

Im pretty sure that the speed3 is limited edition. i even read that they only made 5000 of them in north america. But when i asked my dealer he said that they were becoming part of the mazda line for good. One reason i bought the car as because i was hoping there wasn't going to be too many around. If any one can clear this up for me it would be great

definitely only a few thousand made. According to alot of people with experience in mazdaspeed models, they only have a 2 year run and they stop making them.

Yup. My dealer is very well educated on this - only 5K were made, and 2K were sent to Canadia, so there are only 3K driving around the US (for those of you math-impaired people....)

I can beat that. One of the local guys took his Speed3 to a dealership. They told him he didn't have a Mazdaspeed3, that Mazda never made a Mazdaspeed3. Nope, he had a regular Mazda3 with the optional Turbocharger/Intercooler/6 Speed/LSD option package.

I thought it was 5500 making it to N/A per model year, and that was split up 5000 to the US and 500 to Canada.

isn't 5000 the same figure for the speed 6? So 10000 mazda speeds (3's and 6's) came over? Just like to know for sure when pple are like "isn't that the same as a ford?"

They are made in Japan, just like the Miatas. I don't know about the individual parts, but it is assembled in Japan.

I was pretty sure that the original alotment for canada was 500 and us 5000. Im guessing they just doubled that for 08.

well even if canada get 500 07's and 1000 08's thats still not too many i kno i have the only one in my town. and with such low numbers coming to canada i hope it stays that way.

Wasn't it just Mazdaspeed Springs, some fancy paint and wheels, and a different ECU? I still don't understand why they don't just offer it as a flash for us.
