Interresting Test Today

So. With Map Clamp set to 15.66 PSI I was still getting a little stutter in 4th at max RPM.

So today I turned the Map Clamp down to about 12.12PSI as the max PSI my ECU could see. To my surprise, no more stutter at max RPM in 4th or any other gear.

This was at 19PSI in 4th. So when I got home I turned up my MBC another 4 clicks. Tomorrow I will see if I still have no stutter.

Still very interresting. Comments?

cp-e used to tell people to turn it down to 10 psi or so on the standback to eliminate fuel cut. You're experience mirrors theirs.

And people bashed when I clamped at 3.5v. LOL

i WAS good at 3.8 for a long time. when the cold came i did drop to 3.25V.
no more cut for me now either. that and my NGK's stopped the sputtering i had at the top end too. my car frigging ripps now !

clamp the MAF IAT instead of the MAP.

clamping the iat wont do a damn thing as for stopping overboost related cut. it may help with the cold temp cut though. the map clamp gets rid of ALL cut. you can run all the boost you want in any temp, with zero problems. iat clamping only solves the temp issue.
MAP clamp FTW !!!

I don't have the overboost cut b/c I have my map clamped with the standback. I still get the cold weather thing though and the IAT clamp fixed it.

the lower voltage you clamp at, the less boost the ecu sees.

Thanks 157. So ecu seeing too much boost, it reacts by reducing output signal to which devices. No problem if this is not the right place to ask .I realize you guys have gone over this alot. Who has the complete tutorial on ecu! ha ha

hmmm, that is interesting. i went for a ride early this morning (it was -5 in chitown !) i ran 20psi in every gear with no issue. i dont know if it is the map clamp, the new plugs, the coil mod...... or the combo ??? i am pleased with my ride now though !

-5 degrees? Of course the car made great boost, it was hoping you were headed south and wanted to make it there as fast as possible!
I lived in Chicago for 10 years. Lots of good things about it, but the weather is not one of them. Freeze in the winter, fry in the summer.
