18 x 8.5??

I might be wrong, but I think there is one guy on the forums with this size and it is very close to not working. I don't think its necessary to go this wide because you can fit 255 on wheels only 8" wide and anything over 235 is a close call.

255's on 8 would be to wide of a tire, 255 would be pushing it on 8.5.
what size are they, how much do they wiegh?
My freind put 245s falkin azenas on 8", he wishes he had gone with 235s. His tires sidewall just does not have enough support to make the 10mm diference worth it. This varies though, some tires fit wider than others.

I have 215s on a 8" wheel. I have a pretty good stretch, IDK if I like it or not... search for pics.
I would not go with that offset, It will limit your tire width options. Also low
offsets can mess with your suspensions geometry. The golden rule is 4mm from factory 52.5.

Low offsets will fit but I still would not go lower than 48. 45 is really pushing it. also for performace I would not go lower tham 8''. The wider rim will give your tires a crisper more responsive contact patch.
so an 18 x 8 48 offset would be ideal??
Ideal in a perfect world would be 52-53.
However 8" 48mm would work very well.
48-53 is the range that is best for these cars.
